Which GTX260 do you own?
Is it the 192 or 216sp version?
Faster and silent might be difficult since in my experience the 260's a pretty quiet and fairly rapid card.
Compared to one of my 192sp GTX260's running on its own i found the GTX285 to be a good deal faster and pretty much just as quiet.
TBH i'm a little surprised you feel you need more speed for that resolution.

That's right - as i said it's about the same volume.
Finding a silent card that's better than the 260 is very difficult. I don't personally think those cards are very loud anyway.
Perhaps watercooling or a decent aftermarket cooler should be a consideration if there's an issue.
