seeding for next round would be pretty simple really, 1st place finishers would be drawn against the 2nd place finishers in all the other groups?

Should be able to get some matches in tonight - Got my home game to play against Surfer still (somehow we keep missing each other). Then I still have to play MetalfaceMark and Naan.

Even with 4* teams theres a lot of imbalance, possibly worse than 5* teams because some of the 4*s have a "god" player who kills the poor slow defences :( At least with picking 5* teams you can choose a team with a defence to counter the PAAAACEEEEE :)

Maybe an idea to have a tourney where two random teams of the same rating are drawn for each round and both players use that team? (play one game with each, home/away) Solves the imbalance issue and makes it a bit more interesting, playing with different teams/playstyles, the best player will usually come out on top rather than the luckiest ;p

To be fair, I think I got the best team in the draw.

I think it would be a good idea for everyone to play as the same team in the next cup.

The last one had me and Beenom both playing as Barca in the final and it was an enjoyable match.

How about if there are 8 teams and 16 players. knock out style over two legs. If 8 4 star teams out of the list we're currently using are selected for being closely matched (or as much as possible) then there should be few problems.

When the 16 players are split up half go on the left half on the right and there is two players for each team. One on the left one on the right.

This will mean that everyone is playing with pretty evenly matched teams. It's knockout football which is great and there is only a slim chance that the final will be between the same team and in that case the player with the greater goalo difference has the honour or something.

Just a thought. What do you think? Theres still quite a few unplayed games at the moment if we has 16 player who would like a cup every other week this could be doable. I'm bored without real football at the moment!!!

edit: just seen the random teams would be of the same rating i quite like this - one round 5* vs 5 * next round 2 * vs 2*

Could work but within reason. You could end up with Accy Stanley vs Man Utd could you not?

Nah, I said/meant two teams of the same rating, so you'd have 5* v 5*, 2 v 2 etc, the first random team drawn would have a second one picked from the same pool.

Each player plays as both teams.

e.g. 1st match me as west ham vs skippi as Sampdoria

2nd match me as Sampdoria and skip as west ham.

Cant say fairer than that surely! :D

I like that. Although the main reason I won the last cup was because I learnt Barca inside out. :D

Thats a very good idea.

The only problem I can see with this involves those who want to familiarise themselves with their chosen team. They're probably going to have to familarise themselves with their opponents team too. :p Thank goodness I am not one of them! :D
