Ok, its an old game but I picked this up for about £4.50 having read and seen favourable reviews. The gameplay is pretty good which for me is more important than just visuals. Graphically it is, as expected, not very good at all though occasionally you'll see a texture or something which looks reasonable in comparison. There are other game elements though which I found made up for this archaic appearance. The sound and story line along with the flash backs you see give it a really creepy feeling, something I haven't really experienced since the first fear game or perhaps during Stalker. It is actually bordering on disturbing during some scenes and some of what I've seen I found unpredictable. If you can get your head around the obvious lack of eye candy I'd recommend this to play late one evening. :)

The suffering remains one of my all time fav's but I'm into the darker stuff. The asylum is classic horror. Despite it being free, I'm sure you got your 4.5 worth. The story line is sweet. btw which way did you play? did you get to see how his wife and kids really died?

Haven't finished it yet, can honestly say though this is the best game I've played this year so far. Love the little touches like up close some of the trees bend due to your character's direction of movement.
I have played my character in a good way, though at one point I was working my way through the prison with an inmate I was protecting and a few times too many during a fight with some of the monsters, I ending up wounding him too much so he started attacking me, lol. Once or twice its locked up on me but this is to be expected imo and is not uncommon. If the second game is nearly as good as this then I'll defo be ordering it. Just goes to show that graphics aren't everything.

I remember when this game came out on xbox. Best about it was my mates brother who is schizophrenic sold it to me for a tenner. Great game

I feel guilty for lolling at that but it did make me chuckle. I think your mates bro made a potentially wise choice there. :)

Free version does not run on Vista64, just hangs when going to load a new game. Changing video settings also crashes the game.

Glad it's free....

Quality game finished it on xbox. Its got three endings depending how you play it. The game save of the first game will determine how you can start the second. A truly under rated game.
