switching to the toyos is hardly the end of the world. Still a great tyre in my limited experience of the T1R's we've just put on the new mx5. The price you paid before sounds bargainous! The T1R is a complete bargain in my opinion. Buy it, enjoy the performance, enjoy the value! You can get the T1R either from camskill, or mazda on track at a superb price and I don't think the price is reflected in the performance at all.

Think my dad's car needs something like 245/75/12

Try getting hold of those, at all. Offroad tyres don't count, this is for a 2 seater sports car.

I don't mind the MX-5 to be honest, very capable and nice cars for the cash...some look a bit girly, but they can be changed to make more manly. :p :D

Can pretty easily trump that with mine and emily's banger's, 275/35/19 for me & 285/30/18 for her.

Are you sure about that, I was always quite amused by the bit of trivia that the only car to share my rear tyre size was the 996 911 C4 with 18" wheel?
 
Think the ones on my car are about £175 minimum, havent really found any cheaper than that. 245/45/18 iirc.

Think i currently have a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE040's on.
 
He also has a car which is faster in a straight line, more usable on a long trip and also doesn't look like a boy fancier whilst driving it, pwt :p

Yeah, its the aero with GT3 rims, we all cheat really by having wheels a little too big for our cars. No way mine nor yours needs tyres as big as we run :D

having checked today, they are actually 255/35/18s!
Not sure why i thought they were something else!
