punkbuster works with w7 now, apparently.

played 2.5.0->2.8.0, until i got bored, was a fairly challenging game, great fun though, i do hope they add bridge crossing to this game. will give it a go

There are no issues with PB and Windows 7 now.

I could never play COD4 or BF2 but now I can play them fine, it was announced on the PB Twitter about 3 weeks ago :)

What I don't understand is if it's a free game, why do we have to wait until the 17th? Surely if it's ready to be downloaded now, it's ready to be played?
 
Not really my sort of thing but the fact that it's free and very easy to get using a tool I already use all the time has sold me. Downloading :)

They fixed it. If you're running an older build of Win7 that's probably why. Upgrade to build 7100 when you can, or see if you can update punkbuster manually.

It's well known that it's a deliberate recruiting tool. It even says on the website. You won't find any different here. Why do you think the US Army actually made a free-to-play video game while their forces numbers are the lowest in decades?

They don't give out free games just for the entertainment value. People who disagree with the US military and anything associated with them probably shouldn't be going in threads titled "Americas Army 3 - free game - pre-load now on Steam" :p

Or, as I plan on doing, just play the game for the sake of playing the game. It's a computer game - I can happily ignore the part of it that's obsessed with America...After all, I have to do that during most Hollywood films.
