Americas Army 3 - free game - pre-load now on Steam

I didnt even know it was near release.. I dont think I've seen anything in-game or details of it..

it wasn't that, it was the damn overdose on pariotism that was built in
when I last played it (ages ago now) you had to sign up to their email newsletter! it was funny reading it from a non I-love-america viewpoint.
 
This game started me on online fps back in my 56k days about 8 or more years ago, whenever it first came out. Great game, details are fantastic, even back then the gun details were fantastic and the animations even better. I remember being wowed by the fix jam animation.

Lost track of it over the last few years as my attention was taken by wwiio, tf2 and the like.

Pre-loading now.

The thing is I'm running 7201 which apparently has some sort of new code or something in it call UNKNOWN Windows API Function or along those lines.

I can't play CODWAW for more than 2 mins before I get a PB message with the info above.

After doing some google'in the API function was introduced after build 7127, so I guess a re-install is on the way unless PB fix it or someone finds a work around.

So what anti cheat method will AA3 be using PB or VAC?

AA3 will be using PB.

I'm running the latest beta on win7 7100 RC with no problems, im not 100% sure punkbuster is enabled in the beta so i guess we'll find out next week if PB works with win7 or not.

Anyone with half a brain-cell isn't going to play and suddenly think 'Hold on .. I'll be a squaddie -- that sounds like a right laugh'!!!
 
Got mine earlier.
Anybody that feels like joining up together then feel free to add me via MSN. I think it'll add to the game to have a few people to train up with etc.
