***OcUK Fifa 09 (PS3) Cup II - The Official Thread***

just got round to watching, and amended my spreadsheet but as you see later on in his vid.. he gets the n/a error when the sorting list has the same number?

any chance you know how.. when you get this error.. you can set the 2nd variable or whatever to goal difference? :cool:

i could manually adjust it but that wouldn't be as much fun.. :D

Ahh.... I didn't get that far. So I haven't accounted for that.... something to look at tomorrow ;)

gotta say that looks immense nice one dude! :D

Bah.... he stole my thunder ;)

Edit: I've had a look at ranking on a second variable (Goal Dif) James but it's beginning to look quite complex. I thought about having a another column in the 'settings' table and then using an if statement to point to that column if any points are the same but couldn't get it working. A quick look around the web shows up some quite complex solutions. If I've got more time I'll look into it further.

@James.

Figured out how to rank on Points and then on GD. I've left my spreadsheet up there, I haven't got time to tidy it up as I have a meeting to get to. You can ignore the bottom 2 tables on the left, they will be deleted eventually, but the table on the right is the table that works it out.

The 2 vital columns are R & S. R is still uses rank to work out who is top on points. 'S' then uses sumproduct to work out who has the better goal difference.

Finally Column P sums R & S together to give the final ranking. The Vlookup then creates the final rankings in the top right as before.

i think you've got the extra tables hidden as i can't see the columns your referring to.. but kudos on finding out how!! would like to have a look when your on later :)

Im around again tonight if guys from group 1 want to play, will be home at 5 if anyone wants to pencil in some games. That said, i move house on Friday and wont have any internet for 3 weeks (sky) so if i cant get my games done by then ill probably be best bowing out before i start playing.

Guys I am unfortunately not going to be online tonight at all to post the scores / groups in the OP. This will have to be done tomorrow now! :o

If whoever is dealing with the scores, Ergon or James, could just post a link to the spreadsheet for all group games played up to tonight @9pm and make the post lettering really big, bold and noticeable for everyone else that would be fandabbydozee! :cool:
