Yep, wondering if its worth selling my 4850 512mb for a 4870 1gb, dunno how much of an improvement I'll see with my 1680x1050 screen...

I can most certainly recommend this since I had the 512 version. Powercolour are excellent and they run very cool. Never needed my fan on higher than the minimum 20% stock, even through the summer.
 
4870 1GB for £110 is amazing. It even seems to have a slight overclock.

It's got to the point where I'm calling up my mates and trying to convince them to use these amazing deals, just so I can experience the savings vicariously through them. :D

Happy enough with my X2 until DX11 cards come out though.

I just recently started playing TF2 on my PC and while it runs ok with my built in GFX card I want to run it on full detail... will this '4870' do the job??

Must resist......urge to buy 2nd...Asus 4890...growing....GAH!

I'm so tempted to just get a 2nd and be done with it and then wait till actualy DX11 games come out to change cards, but then I think "Oh but the DX11 cards might be amazing and totaly eclipse the 4890" and now my brain hurts.

As above, it will run it considerably better than an intergrated card and you will see a massive differance
