Hello,

I'm after a decent but not too expensive kitchen pan. Can anyone recommend some good brands?

Thanks muchly.

I bought a stainless steel set from M&S (Branded M&S) around 3 years ago and they're undestructible. Especially fond of them as they're oven proof!

I bought a lifetime guareteed hard anodized Circulon set when I moved into my flat 4 years ago. Used every day they still look brand new and I can imagine passing them onto my grandchildren.

What do you want to cook in them and how much do you want to spend?

General cooking: high quality stainless steel pans with thick bottoms

Stews, casseroles, sauces, dishes: Le Crueset cast iron pans, very expensive, but can last a lifetime if you look after them

Frying: fish, breakfasts etc. any quality non-stick pan, for steaks you need a non-stick cast iron pan, preferrably with an oven proof handle too
