Got this heatsink last year for my Q6600, all is good but im looking to put another 120mm fan on it (2 fans instead of just 1 currently) but i seem to have lost the fan retention bracket.spring thingies that were supplied for it.

Anyone know where i can replacements as an elastic band wont last forever :P

A bit on the hot side, are you using auto voltage when overclocking? I have the same cooler and on my previous q6600 at 3.8ghz i was hitting 68-68-62-62, 2 x 2000 rpm fans in push/pull, ideally you want to avoid auto voltage as it can give to much juice therefore creating more heat, also ensure the cooler is mounted properly.

Yeah it is stock volts, coretemp reads it as 1.25 or something like that.

Will double check and make sure the HSF is seated properly late, did have a fiddle lastnight and there was a bit of play in it, could rotate it a few degrees each way.

Sounds like the washer mod may be needed in your case to give the cooler a bit more presure on the cpu.

Thats more like it mate;) auto always gives far to much voltage than is required, nice drop in temps, you may be able to push that chip a bit further, 3.7-3.8 ghz may be possible.:)
