VXR Trackdays - Everyone's invited!

And what surprised me most was that we wern't all Torque steering off the track :D:D

Cracking car, mainly for the pace and sheer fun factor. Looks awesome in blue too !!!!

Yup the torque steer is blown way out of proportion. I'm running near 300bhp and its still very mild.

Am I allowed to say I have just been invited to a corporate day and chose croft on the 14th of July.

This will be my third driving day this year, had a Nissan and a Land Rover one so far, they all seem to think I have control over what cars our company buys. Should be fun especially as it is free :-P

Heres my telemetry print out, did pretty well!

Impressive :o Have you done many track days?

I take it the instructors there are not VXR folk; just the instructors the are based at the track?

Who else is going to the Thruxton day? :)

So tempted to book the 27th June at Rockingham, no one I know whats to go but my gf says she wants to go watch! :D Anyone else planning to go there/for that one? :D

Hmm, trying to order for myself and a mate, any reson why I can only buy 1 ticket? Don't wanna find it sold out after ordering 1!

nm, booked now! 27th PM :D

I did Rockingham VXR day last year and have done an Aston Martin performance driving course in a Vanquish S in 2007. All the instructors are involved in motorsport in some way or another.

I think this is apparent given that you accelerated twice as hard as the instructor, braked twice as hard as him/her yet acheived almost exactly the same maximum speed.

Not sure what relation the acceleration or braking has on maximum speed achieved. The telemetry laps were averaged over 4 laps and regardless of how hard the acceleration or braking may be in some parts of the track, everyone should have achieved that speed along the straight.

Did you get a student/intructor laptime?

You both have to buy seperately.

Rockingham should be interesting, it was originally £160 because of the extra time drifting the VXR8 (or something) but they reduced it in line with the other tracks the day before we were planning to book :D

Me and a mate will be there Saturday too - looking forward to it!

Shame as they included so much detail RE telemetry yet missed out the most basic figure ie. laptime.

:(

Shame but it wouldnt have been totally representative as there was nearly always some traffic + it would have just encouraged people to push harder than they should once they start comparing times with other people !

Precision on driving lines, turning in points and general driving is easier to judge without the need for absolute speed.

See ya there :D

Work has offered to send me on this, but I can't find the paper part of my licence. Think this will be an issue? :s

If you don't have it I think they can just ring the DVLA on the spot referencing your card license. I *believe* that happened to someone this morning but ring them to double check.

Had an absolutely fantastic time at Rockingham this morning :D Thoroughly enjoyed it!
