wth are you on about? Of coure there's hardly and lightsaber fights or force use. At the beginning of Episode 4 there were only 4 people who knew how to use the force. Luke was still a stroppy angst ridden teen and only 2 member of the Jedi order were still alive and there would be no point in having a load of Sith warriors who could potentially usurp Vader.
Did anyone here see star wars first time round back in 1976?
I've just seen the original trialer on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvqpFbRKtQ and was wondering how it seemed. I was born in 76 so never knew a life without Star Wars. What was it like for those of you older ones when Star Wars first came out in 1977?
Star wars is about lightsabers and force use
No it isn't.
k decided to watch the first one today. I'm currently 40 mins in and actually really enjoying it. The only problem is believing a 9 year old boy built a pod racer and can race it against pros.![]()
Take lightsabers and force use out, what do you have?
Another generic sci-fi film.
Star Wars is not all about lightsaber duels and force powers, the force in general, yes. If you're gonna talk about a film at least know what you are talking about.
So if star wars isnt about Jedi's, force use and lightsabers, then what on earth is it about?
So if star wars isnt about Jedi's, force use and lightsabers, then what on earth is it about?
whats your point?
1. Poor
2. Better than 1
3. OK
2 & 3 were better than 1 due to the distinct lack of Jar Jar Binks. Lucas must have been on crack when he thought him up TBH. Only more annoying characters since have been the Crazy Frog & Russell Brand.![]()
Quite simple, go up to anyone in the street and say "what is star wars?" and i bet you they say "force, light sabers, jedi's, darth vader". Take that away and you don't have the franchise we do now.
So if the first 4-6 has very little of what people associate with the film, yet the 1-3 do, i don't understand how they can be a bad film considering it consists of everything star wars is.
Do you really think that filmmaking is that simple? Is there no place for storyline or acting performances in your conception of a film?
Or is it possible that there's slightly more to this game than merely having lots of the elements?
