VIRII and CBS were/are not blatantly racist, they were just against mass immigration. They are allowed to hold that opinion if they can rationalise that belief without resorting to racism.

Personally, weak arguments about economic inactivity and an alien cultural offensive are yet to convince me.

He's talking about the repuation the forums had externally (and is still trying to shake off) rather than anything else. The simple fact that a few posters swamped the forum with racist and pseudo-racist threads, and kept on and on posting over and over despite people pointing out the flaws in their arguments repeatedly until they couldn't be bothered any more (it's gets very boring to address the same discredited arguments over and over again) is probably the main cause.

However, I will agree with you that Virii and CBS never made openly racist posts, they did make plenty of bigoted, intolerant and inaccurate posts, especially with regards to Muslims and the like, and repeated them ad nauseum. I will also, however, credit Virii with one of the best definitions of what he wanted multicultural society to be like, I can't remember the exact details, but it was something about discussing differing traditions over tea, and then both going to their own lives and customs without interfering in each other (I'm paraphrasing and may have got it somewhat wrong, but I remember being impressed with it at the time)

Only to morons who immediately scream racist if someone so much as questions Political Correctness. Just look at yourself and this thread as a prime example of the paranoid idiocy expressed the second someone asks for an explanation as to WHY multiculturalism is good and EXAMPLES as to HOW it is enriching UK life.
You jump to some amazing, and frankly utterly STUPID, conclusions and paranoid delusions. Absolutely NOTHING that I have posted in this thread has a single hint of racism, it is absolutely NOT racist to ask people who throw down blanket statements to add some facts or rationale to their opinion. It is not racist to ask people to explain their thought processes and to ask them to explain how they come to a given conclusion. Yet to you it is "frightening" or "sinister"........
Debate is not about expressing opinions it is about offering reasons and having them examined. If you are afraid of debating your opinions and having your reasons examined then either your reasoning is weak or your are intellectually stunted, or both.
If your opinions are so "correct" then why fear debate? There are lots of BS ideologies that take the same path as you have taken when it comes to offering explanations. Lots of religions, unable to give sensible answers to questions, resort to accusations of blasphemy and make it a crime to even ask the question. It seems to me that Political Correctness has taken the same path, you must believe my son and questioning the shining light of PC is blasphemy. Note how quickly you jumped to the race card just because I have asked people to explain how they have been enriched by multiculturalism and barring the odd curry they've struggled to think of anything.
Note also that my asking the questions is not me expressing a view, I am simply asking for reasoning and then examining the reasoning. I very deliberately expressed no opinions and little in the way of viewpoint and found the paranoid and ridiculous accusations that flowed rather amusing.
For the record I have never expressed ANY racist views here, I have only ever looked for debate becase I enjoy debate. I enjoy the exchange of ideas - something pro multiculturalists inisist enriches them and yet they seem ever so keen to avoid that here
I like intellectual stimulation, I like exploring ideologies, I like thinking, I like reasoning and I very definitely do NOT like hard and fast "emotional opinions" that have no reasoned basis in fact, indeed no reason at all except it is the accepted politically correct viewpoint.

HI DD I doubt I would be allowed to stay and even if I am would it be worth it? Will I get intelligent debate here? Only from a select minority. Despite popular opinion I do not have particularly strong opinions on most issues, I do however expect those with strong opinions to be able to justify them. When they can't and play the race card they just become objects of ridicule and then they get upset.

I'm always going to question the widely held majority view because that is always going to be more interesting than posting indignant "FACTZ" like "Immigrationz iz goodz". I can't be held responsible for other peoples inability to explain why they hold their viewpoints or for how angry and intolerant they become when asked to. Got to love the hypocrisy of those people.

virii/vee70’s style of debate is complete evasion - I watched him tie other posters in knots by constantly asking them to justify their opinions without ever clearly establishing his own. While I do not have the time to sit on the internet for days on end I have however made my opinions on immigration and multiculturalism very clear. We need controlled immigration due to a skill shortage and emigration, and the vast majority of people I have ever met enjoy forming friendships and relationships with people of different cultures while living in a culturally diverse country. It really isn’t for me or anyone else to prove this, this is the majority view of beloved Great Britain.

I remember the forum when I joined and I completely avoided GD due to virii, cleanbluespy and others posting a constant barrage of prejudice and intolerance. This being allowed to occur has undoubtedly affected the public perception of overclocker’s as a forum and as a brand. It would in my opinion be utter folly to allow this to happen again.

I believe that multiculturalism is a healthy approach to modern society. It helps to break down barriers, improves racial and cultural integration, and encourages tolerance of others. It also enriches society with the contributions of people from a variety of backgrounds.

What are your views on immigration into the UK?
I believe that immigration into the UK needs to be tightened considerably. Passport controls are lax; policies are confused and inconsistent; criminal record checks are inadequate. The UK has already introduced a points-based system modelled on Australia's; I believe this should improved further so that it is virtually identical to the Australian policy.

What are your views on the integration of different races and cultures into British society?
I believe that it is good and healthy for different races to mix and integrate within a broader national multiculture. I do not believe this has been handled very well in the UK, where parochial attitudes from natives and immigrants alike have resulted in ethnic ghettos and a mutual distrust.
