Howdy,

I'm due an upgrade now and can have anything from Orange for nowt, I'm behind in phone tech so need some help on what to get.

I'm open to suggestions as I'm not looking for anything in particular.

I've had SE's in the past and and I'm in the process of getting rid of this **** awful Nokia 6500 I have now.

Any suggestions welcome, I'm not too fussed about swapping networks if need be as Orange are pain in the arse sometimes.

Any help mucho appreciated :)

I'd wait till the end of the month, wait and see if the samsung Galaxy and N97 are out and what they are like compared to the touch pro 2 and the like then make a decision.

Aye I was looking for that N97 :/

I'm tempted by the BB 8900, although my experiences with older BB's wasn't the best.

This ones alright:

N97 is supposed to be out last week of this month, The more I look at it though, the more I am being put off.
It looks fantastic, but it doesnt seem to be all that powerful.

:( @ Rip.

Now you have completely ballsed me up atpbx, I need something pretty powerful as I want to use it for works email, which is why I was thinking about the BB's.

:/

I would go for a BB Bold or Curve, or change provider, I was with Orange for over 5 years and they wanted me to pay over £100 for a BB.

Gimp if its works email and that sort of stuff then i seriously suggest you have a look at the BB range in particular the Bold or the 8900...the 8900 doesnt have 3G but is smaller, lighter and thinner than the Bold plus it has a better camera whereas the Bold has 3G and more memory ie 1gb internal but both can take sd cards up to 16gb.

BB's arent just for email, they are good as phone and even media stuff ie music etc. Pop over to the place in my sig and you can get a good idea as to what people really think of the Bold and 8900 but if u get the chance pop into a vodafone store and have a play as they usually have demos on display.

Also consider the HTC Magic, pretty decent phone...im using one next to my Bold and i love it.

Don't think Orange will get the magic, I think (but could and am probably wrong) it's Vodaphone only. They may get the Samsung though.

Get the new Iphone. £60 cashback when you do it via quidco so it becomes pretty affordable. I was going to get the N97 then read the review.

Check what email your work supports though...

Shame about the magic :/ Samsung is definitely out, they're awful.

Would only want an iphone for the music player really and I already have a touch so that's out.

Email is ok as I've used my Outlook and Groupwise accounts with BB's in the past.

It looks like the N97 at the moment although I can see Orange wanting some cash for it :/

THe N97 gets a fairly poor review but can be had free on a £45 a month contract...

Best bet is a trip to the shops, have a play with a few handsets. Tell them you need time to think then order the one you like online.

There's rumours that Orange have the exclusive rights to the sucessor to the HTC Magic, the android equipped HTC Hero apparently within the next three months. Other than that Orange don't seem to have many must have phones and I'm due an upgrade in the next week.
