any recommendations? or do they all do the same thing lol basically need to cover some rust up under neath my car as i dont want it to get any worse.

You can get rust converter and then use hammerite anti rust paint. It'll slow the process down but it wont completely stop it. To do that you'd had to grind all the rust off the metal and hope it hasnt gone through to the other side or you'll have to cut it out and replace with clean metal.

U-pol seems to be rated highly though

i have this hammerite korust stuff, (little nail varnish size tube) im assuming this inst like proper converting stuff and ill need something better?

Lopez uses a gel, Hydrate80 I think it's called.

That Hammerite stuff is pretty useless though. I've used it on my car, tried to grind as much of the rust away as I could and it came back after a few months.

I'm about to undertake some rust removal in the near future and have some of that hammerite kurust stuff.

Worth using or should I bin it and get some other stuff?

Only want to do it once!

would this stuff work on a focus on a y reg? do you need to perp it? ie obviously clear rust off but do you need to do anything else?

Hmm that's not the best news in the world as that's exactly what I did this afternoon :\

The Hammerite stuff is OK as long as you do the job properly.
Grind as much of the rust off as you can, then go at it with a really stiff wire brush.
Apply the Kurust, leave for 3 hours then apply a couple of coats of Hammerite black paint. It won't stop it forever but will last a good while.

People get a bad impression of the stuff when they just paint it on without any prep time. Do that and the rust will be back in a couple of week.
