xbox 360 RROD.

a lot of good games on that system but I can't support a console that breaks so often. I went through 3 of them in 2 years. If microsofts next console is more reliable and plays 360 games, first day purchase, no questions asked.

Most recent-ish one (well like 3/4years ago) is when i lost something expensive in Eve Online, christ that game knows how to punish you :D

World of Warcraft being ruined (honor system deleted, honor point items added, general noobery added)

And Halo looks so much better than HL1?

Ouch aye that was what made me quit WoW, got to rank 12 and then everyone could by the gear I earned in a couple of weeks, that took me months of pvp.

all skill went out the window when uber gear was made easy and world pvp was put to sleep when Arena was introduced.

RIP WoW.

Oblivion, in comparison to Morrowind it was a huge let down. Terribly short and not many side quests either.

Buying a PS3 and Wii were both purchases I regretted on the same day. £425 quid to play the launch games that were put to shame straight away by 360 games. This still happens although not as much. As for the Wii... well it's too 'family' for me.

Launch games are never anything epic. Its silly to expect greatest on day 1. You should have held out for better games.

Lesson learned the hard way. £425, ouch. :/

Using my xbox on part-x to buy my 360 thinking it was backwards compatable, now I can't play my fav game ever 'otogi' :(
And the fact that serious sam is now supported but when I put it in to play I get a black screen even after updates :(

But still :( I wana play it now.
Gonna have to try picking up an xbox umless, is there a program that let's u run the disks on your pc as an xbox?
I heard about something like it for playstation but never seen anything about.
Is it even possible?

Final Fantasy XII to be honest. Most disappointing battle system ever.

And the Dreamcast thing. The system was successful in its own rights, selling roughly as many units as the Gamecube and Xbox did within the same time periods before the system was discontinued. The biggest reason it failed was the Sega Saturn, though. Story goes that Sega was given a number it had to meet in 2002 to make up for the Saturn's losses (I think it was about 13 million units or something and they sold 10 million - the Saturn in comparison sold about 9.5 million units over 4 years) and it didn't make it.

Star Wars Galaxies NGE, there have been some game changes that didn't work, and felt wrong, but this is the only one to have peed me off to an extent, grinding out 3 jedis, 19 other full speced chars (on one server) 7 accounts active at one point in time, yes, a bit of an addiction, but it was MY addiction! lol, just such a shame they wiped the game on thier asses then published it and called it the NGE :(

Team Fortress Classic

Everyone in the original TF was really excited when they heard that TF2 was going to be coming out as a mod for Halflife. So excited that they all pre-ordered Halflife in anticipation.

Then we found out that TF2 had been delayed and Valve were bundling Team Fortress Classic with Halflife as a stop-gap.

What a shallow, skill-less game compared to the original. Suddenly rocket/grenade jumps were child's play and it totally unbalanced maps. The level of tactics needed to shut out Well6 or escape with the flag on 2fort5 suddenly disappeared.

Thankfully TF2 re-addressed the balance eight years later. :)

About the PS3, i felt the same once i got it but i knew things would pick up. As mentioned launch games tend to suck quite a bit. But still, 2 years down the line the PS3 is a fantastic piece of kit with some truely awesome titles. I wouldnt call it a gaming low myself as things have gotten better and better.

The Wii on the other hand, what an absolute waste. Besides the odd good game here and there, i constantly question why i still own one. Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros are the only games worth keeping it for. E3 has got my hopes up a bit with the new Mario games and Metroid but thats probably all ill buy for it in the next year. Such a shame really, its been destroyed by the 'casual' audience with their fitness and lame party game pap. Dammit Nintendo!!!!!
