Finally managed to find two of these to buy for my radiator.

Fan Size: 120mm x 120mm x 38mm
Speed: 2600 RPM
Airflow: 102.5 CFM :D
Noise: 39 dBA
Static Pressure: 64.7Pa (~6.6mm H2O) :D
Bearing: Ball bearing
Voltage: 12 V
Current: .52 Amp
Power: 6.24 W

Most people judge fans on cfm when the important figure for radiator cooling is static pressure IMO.

Just thought I would share the fact that I have two of without doubt, the best radiator/case 120mm fan you can buy (performance vs sound) arriving soon :D

Only when trying to bench my rig at over 4.5Ghz ;)

I reckon 7v will be ample for day to day and I have calculated that even at that speed (which is pretty quiet on the video) the cfm through my radiator is more than my current fans give me on 12v.

There are quieter than the 39 dBa suggest in real life and are certainly the quietest fan you can buy at 100cfm.

Most manufacturers lie about dBa anyway. For example even at 30 to 40cfm the San Ace is 4dBa quieter than a Yate Loon which is recognised as a quiet fan. The difference is you can go to 75cfm through a radiator if you need to whereas the Yate loon tops out at 50cfm.

In fact this fan is quieter than most of the acclaimed quiet fans at medium cfm speeds.

There is only the Scythe Gentle Typhoon which beats it on cfm per dBa but that's a bit ugly and maxes out at only 35 cfm through a radiator.

The Gentle Typhoons make great case fans though as that is what is in mine but you can't see them in my case so it doesn't matter how ugly they are ;)

75dB at full whack? That's louder than traffic!

You have to compare like for like. In that review, which is one of the best roundups of fans I've seen, the sound levels were recorded from a cm away.

Most fan manufacturers list dBa as from 1m in a soundproofed room with the fan suspended not mounted.

Even the quietest 800rpm fan in that review got to past 60dBa and almost 70dBa. So you can't go on the recorded dBa but only to use it to compare one fan with another in that review.

Have your listened to the other fans as well? They all sound noisy to one degree or another.

Theese sound like decent fans, may try a couple on my TRUE black, due to the fin spacing it really benefits from high static pressure fans.

Rare as hens teeth to find though. It's taken me 4 months to get these two. However, the place I bought them from has two more in stock so drop me an email if your interested. They aren't cheap though, £30 for two inc delivery but still cheaper than Noctuas I suppose.

Email sent, im currently running 2 pwm sharkoon slient eagles on the cooler, 400-1200 rpm, wrongly described as 400-2000 rpm on the website.:( theyre not as good cooling wise as the standard 2000 rpm models i had cooling my q6600, which are now used as case fans, i couldnt be bothered dismantling my kama bay and eclipse case to swap round the fans so a new pair of 38mm fans may be a worthwhile investment.

Well i've tested them but not installed them yet.

First impressions:

They start rotating at 4v but there's a bit of a clicking noise until about 6v.

Another plus, at 6v they are indeed quieter than my xilence red wings on 12v but push substantially more air.

At 12v they are indeed quite loud but are like a hair dryer with the amount of air they are shifting :D. The noise is more from the air being pushed rather than motor noise though.

I will have to see how they alter my temps tomorrow when I get them fitted.

i made a similar move with the ystech 1238s back in the day, also 120x38s.. very good fans for watercooling, even at 5v with a really restrictive (i wept for a thermochill) heater matrix out of a fiesta. 125cfm and about 45db at 12v though, never used them at that

those denki's are hideously expensive  and hard to find but 120x120x38s really do make 25mm thick fans look silly.. those ystech's even pull through a carbon filter in an air purification unit we got..replaced a scarily noisy 120x38 AC fan

Greebo, thanks for the link mate, im wondering if theese fans would be ok to run of my akasa junior fan controler, its a 3 channel unit, with each channel rated at 10w, would be very handy as the fan controller is already fitted in my case. I get the cpu fan warning with my current pwm fans, so bios speed control isnt an issue.

They should be fine. The fan needs 0.52 amps which is 6 to 7 watts so if your conroller is 10W per channel then you are sorted.

It's only motherboards which sometimes can only handle 2 or 3 watts.

those denki's are hideously expensive  and hard to find AC fan

Yeah its a shame really but they still cost less than noctuas!. They have shot up in price in the last year or two and become harder to find as well.

A couple of years ago you could have bought them for a fiver each, even last year for a tenner.

The sad thing is that direct from the manuafacturer in quantities of 100, you can buy them for about £6 each. Shame more etailers didn't stock them. I reckon for £10 retail they would fly off the shelf.

Well that was interesting and even better than expected.

3C drop under IBT load with the San Ace at 5v compared with the xilence red wing on 12v :D

And wait for it...............

A mighty impressive 10C+ when on full 12v

So overall I am well impressed.

Downside is I was planning on upgrading the rad to a thermochill but with these 38mm the thermochill won't fit :(

I think I'll keep these over the rad swap though.

New pump head and p45 mobo arriving later this week, drain system then time to try and hit the magic 5Ghz.

I use the same SanAce on my radbox. Got to say they are fantastic fans. Great at low speeds, hardly any noise and give that extra boost at high speed without sounding like a Harrier jump jet.

Ouch they are loud ::eek::

No their not actually. You have to remember that video has the microphone really close.

Try picking a quiet fan in that review or one you own and you will see what I mean.

They are definitely much quieter (almost silent) at 5v than my xilence red wings.
