Re-playing FF VII **Warning - Spoilers**

Enemy skill thats it! I have it equipped on one char but it never does anything..I thought the same just leave it and see what happens..so I have to get hit by a mob first then ill learn it..interesting! do I learn enemy skills by chance or defo by an enemy attack?

I think ill equip it on Cloud :)

Also is aries the only one who can use the restore materia..I have tried to make other chars healers but to no avail :/?

As said any character can use any materia. Are you sure it's equiped on who you think it is?

Enemy skills are learnt when they are used on the character with the materia. Some times you need to manipulate a creature to force them to cast positive spells on your team. :)

It's very useful. If you go through this thread there's lots of mention of how to get the best ones. But it looks like this is your first time through, so you'll probably want to avoid reading too much of this thread because of the massive spoilers in it. :)

Nothing but Red Bull, junk food and Final Fantasy for me today, starting now!

Anyone else going to join my day long slog? :D

:( Just got up after work, and I've got work again tonight, so no :( REALLY want to though!!!

Nothing stopping me getting a few hours in though!! :D

So... I'm at the snowy village after the tw@ Sepiroth slotted my bird, are there any side quests or things I need to know before I venture in??

I reckon you can pretty much work your way through the thread from the beginning. I'm posting chronologically and so when you get to the part I've posted, stop to avoid spoilers...

There WILL be some spoliers though, even early in the thread with the guys who've completed it numerous times chatting about various stuff.
It's certainly not done any harm to my personal enjoyment of the game, infact this thread has made a strictly one player game a great social experience, but if you want the whole thing to be a surprise (and it really is an AWESOME STORY!!), then leave this thread and just do it yourself :)

Got some video flashbacks going on in the village right now....

Aeris' Mum???
She's basically said tha Jennova 'The crisis from the sky' fell to earth and wounded the planet, the Cetra (Ancients) moved in and tried to heal the land by grwing stuff so that the planet could use the energy, but the wound was too big.
The reason the ground is snowy there is because the planet is using all the availible energy to slowly heal...

I didn't bother screenying the dialog as she waffles a bit and frankly, I couldn't be bothered!!! :D

So.. basically, because Jennova is a threat to the planet, the planet created 'WEAPON'. However, the Cetra managed to confine Jennova so Weapon was never used.
It's still out there somewhere and will be while Jennova still exists.

You won't miss much, just make sure you fully explore the snowy part after the village. There's a summon that's very easy to miss there.

I've decided to have a break from the main story and have a go at some chocobo inbreeding today. :D

Any master breeders want to refresh my memory?

I know how to get a gold, I just don't remember how to get a river or mountian choco. :p

I think they're both from breeding Good/Great? But what do I do differently each time?

Well...... today I have achieved absolutely nothing!!
I've gained a few levels with unintentional grinding, and found the cliff face a few times, but I've only found the dude in the cave once.

I assume it's the ice woman who doesnt like hot springs mentioned in the village??
In which case, I've found the hot spring, and touched it, but do I need to do anything else before I re-visit her?
And where the bloody hell is she?!?!? Can't find her to save my life right now!!

I'm clearly in a massive grump because I've got to go back to work in a few hours so I'm off for a brief kip.

Any advise on this chilly bint would be very gratefully received

Yep touching the spring is all you need to do. :)

To get to her, you go to the top of the map where it's wide open and you can stick flags down.

Head north until you hit the cave in the middle, then head west until you hit a path, then follow the path to her cave. :)

Legend!! Cheers :)

And cheers for not giving it away before I got grumpy and started moaning!! I should really be doing this all myself, just being lazy on this one!!

I remember getting lost in the snow part for ages on one of my play throughs was bloody annoying :D

Oh and just changed the sig in honour. :)

Schizo down.

I always remember him being a challenge, but he was an utter walk in the park. Big Guard up, and he could only do 200-300 damage.

Worked him down with Fire3 and Ice3, and then a nice Meteorain with crits sent both heads to the grave at once.

After reading the Prof. Gast section you just posted Chris i feel more that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is worth watching. It does add a lot to the whole Jenova mythology

No no no no no.

She's EAST from the cave in the middle of the blizzard. :)

You're quite correct! Good spot. :) I think I got confused because I passed out before I went to her this time, and headed south, then to the left. (which would have looked west).

So how far have you got now then? :D

Gave up around 8 to play L4D. :p

I'm just about to go to the "bit where you get a submarine" (spoiler free enough?).

I've also managed to catch all the chocos I'll need for a gold one, so I might go about breeding them tomorrow. :)

Get hold of Advent children complete on blu ray. It makes more sense :D. Crisis core is also worth a look.

Not out here no. But its been out in Japan for awhile. Which has English audio or sub's if you want them.
