Evening All,

I think I may be in the minority here - but I hate the summer, purely because I can't stand to be hot, much rather be cold - however I do love the BBQ's and Woman so I am not complete random...

That said I have recently got a new role which entails me having to work a fair amount of nights, meaning trying to sleep in a bright, hot room during the day is a most difficult task. I have already gone into the blackout blind investigation route to cease some of the sunlight that crashes through my windows - but I still have the issue of heat.

My room faces a pretty busy through road so window open = noise and lots of it, so how can i keep the heat down - things like dehumidifiers and good? Or an expenseive joke?

What would you guys recommend?

Home made ac

Cheap home made ac, could also get a cheap solar powered pump from a garden centre and itll, be even lower in running cost.

Not a halpfull post really but yay! there are more sun grinches out there :D (I really dont like the sun when its all hot during the day)

Bedfan?, never tried one but i'd be interested to hear if they work.

I doubt it, they'd just be blowing hot air over you.

Don't suppose you have any experience of the less noisey ones or first hand experience?

Unfortunately not, I have neighbours from hell, screaming kids in the backgarden at 9am on sunday so can't open the window. :(

Fancy paying me a tenner/hour? I'll fan you down. Like they did in Egypt for the pharoahs - burly men standing there wafting a feather on a stick. :D
