Keeping My Room Cool/Cold

B&Q are doing easy-fit split AC systems for about £200. The compressor (noisy bit) goes outside on the floor or mounted on the wall, the outlet goes in your room. Cool, almost silent and an hours work with an SDS drill :)
 
if you tired you'll sleep no matter how hot it is, i do.

i hate the summer heat to and also work nights, infact i get a better sleep when on nights.

in china every family has one of them wall mounted ac units. There aren't noisy at all and keep the room extremely cool..cold in fact at your request. But it cost quite a ait
 
Was one of the main problems when working nights last year. Heat and the noise from the street big problem. Eventually i lost and the stress and lack of sleep involved was also probably part of the reasons why i had a heart attack last year. One of the 1st questions a paramedic will ask after the general ones - is do you work nights. Night work causes great stress on your body and not sleeping defo will not help
 
Sleep in the bath on a lilo?

The bathroom is shared by the other guys, i have a ensuite shower but not big enough to lay in - otherswise perfect idea! :)

McManicMan - I dont sleep well generally anyway but even so the heat is killer, just mailed my pops the split AC link above to see what he thinks and may go that route! Feeling better now I hope?
 
I installed one in my bedroom a few years ago bought from Makro. My room is at the front and has the sun in the afternoon and does get very warm, especialy when I am on the pc as well.
