Not only was I looking with the bird shots on my holiday (See Cairngorms bird threads), but I also managed to get some mammals too;

4's an excellent shot. I've never had the chance to see red squirrels in the wild - it's something I've got to get around to doing before the pox gets them :(

I would be very surprised if you saw #6 in the Cairngorms ... :p

Mind if I ask where (& when) you took #5?

they are of course all excellent.

Thats cos they're all up here in Scotland :D

No 3 is insanely good, so sharp for a 420mm focal length.

All top shots as usual

My favourite squirrel shot is still by the guy who lives across the road from me though :D

Thanks guys. Appreciate the comments. :)

Hehe, yeah 6 was taken on a day trip out the the black isle, so your right, it's not a rare mountain dolphin. :D

5 was taken near loch Loch an Eilean on (looks at exif).. Wednesday 29th April, 2009 (11pm). Taken under artifical lighting, but I was pushing the camera and lens to the limit. Was shooting handheld with ISO2000 (so wish I had a D3 for things like this), f2.8 1/25th or slower. A few came out alright, but most were a bit blurry. :)

Ta, if it's the hide that I think then I missed you by a couple of days (I was there the weekend after).
Pretty much similar results :(

badgers & mice as well?

Hehe, yeah it would have been the same place. Was it the poshest hide ever? Yeah, we got 3 pine martins, 1 badger, 1 mouse and 3 deer. Great experience and an amazing setting. :)

Your fox shots turned out sharper than the ones I took the other day, think I need some more length...:p

NIce shots, which lens?

Cheers. Sigma 300mm f2.8 with and without 1.4X TC.

We always need more length. One day the 600mm f4 will be mine. :D

yup & about to get posher - did they tell you about the upgrades they were expecting in a few weeks?

Yeah, they were getting more cameras and IR lights weren't they? Can't remember what else he said they were getting. What did you see when you were there? Where did you stay? Did the guy tell you about the Pine Martins nesting under his bathroom? :)
