If you already run Vista, I see no point whatsoever in paying money to upgrade to Windows 7. I agree with your conclusion there

If I was buying a new machine, I would always take the latest O/S at the time, so after October or whenever I'd certainly take Windows 7. It makes little sense to take an old O/S

Installed Build 7231 and I could not see any new UI so it must be just some tweaks.

Not worth upgrading to imho.

RTM is out about the 19th.

Did it before one first build but cant fix the mother now

I'm having some strange problems (probably not so strange to everyone else

) with my Windows 7 Build 7100.

If I try and view video clips from websites that require Windows Media Player to popup the explorer just throws a fit and brings up 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'

Any ideas?

There will be no aero glass on the right click menu. You must have got that from the FAKE postings around the net of new Win7 features.
There will be no UI changes or added stuff in RTM.

got a sound question for win7, im on the 7100 build and have a x-fi platinum.

basicaly my sound cuts off at random no matter what im doing, it can take a few mins or it can take hours to happen but the only way to fix it is with a restart. when it goes i get a click noise then sounds is just gone.

any ideas? its driving me insane.

This. Windows 7 seems to be more optimized (The main thing imo) and a new taskbar, but is mostly tweaks over Vista. Not worth paying money for.

But just like for owners of XP it wasn't worth paying money for Vista as an upgrade on that it's not worth it for owners of Vista to spend money on 7. XP > 7 though is a little more wortwhile, though tbh XP still runs 99% of everything out there. (Single exception being DX10+, without cracks?)

I like the look of how Windows 7 is turning out though myself, so I'll most likely go and buy it when it is released.

For me the SSD support makes it worthwhile.

Not convinced they will have the trim command in XP.

I haven't had a chance to try them yet but will do when I get home, they were recommended to me in another thread about my xfi gamer. Hope they help

Can anyone tell me if 7 does anything towards allowing a game to run full screen on 1 monitor and for you to still be able to see the desktop on the other?
