Another shocking video of police violence

But the whole idea of the tazer is a less-lethal option where firearms would have been used. Do you not think this represnts a slightly dangerous focus creep from the original intention?

Tasers can be used by the police when officers are facing violence, or the threat of violence that would require them to use force to defend themselves or the public. That certainly appears to be the case in that video (I note that the video doesn't show what the man was up to before he was taken to the ground). I see no police brutality here.

I would maybe have some sympathy for the guy getting tasered if he hadn't been resisting arrest. Seriously guys, a bit of advice - if you happen to be asked to do something by a policeman/woman don't behave like a ****. That way you are less likely to get a good zap with a taser/ cs spray / dry slap etc. etc.
Its not rocket science.

One taser should be enough for them to get the cuffs on? He was kicking at the officers legs so they might have overreacted with another taser. But why punch him in the head 3 times.. It's as if some officers love violence.

have you actually watched the video?

Troll tbh. Silly boy

It's difficult to properly comment on it without seeing the full video but I wonder what made the tazer more suitable than CS spray in this instance? To me it's especially concerning that he was tazered twice even when there were multiple officers restraining him. It's in instances such as this where fatalities have occurred and I don't think it's unreasonable to assume 5 officers could have restrained him using conventional means.

Tazers seem to be increasingly used to enforce compliance instead of protecting officers and the public from violence.

He punched him in the arms to restrain him. Well done to the Police for apprehending a difficult person.

It seems to me that Taser was not having the desired effect in making him compliannt to being handcuffed.

Punching a suspect in the arm who is resisting is not forbidden as long as you can justify it.

Then why does his head recoil from the punches (40-43 seconds in)?

The police did marvelous there the idiot deserved it I would have chopped his balls off to still be punching towards me if I was tasering him. And if I was the police I would have gave that stupid bint and the gangsta with the hood a good clip around the ear their ignorance to the situation coming up behind the officer is unbelieveable.

He was resisting (at least with his legs) but he didn't appear to present a threat, and I couldn't see the point of the second taser except for added lulz. The punches look like they were to the shoulder or upper arm (not the head), but I don't see how they were justified.

Still, I guess the police have to find their entertainment where they can, just like the rest of us.

If the officers were carrying CS then they cannot use Taser on the subject if the spray does not work.

Enforcing compliance can also protect officers and public.

Also, it is often extremely difficult to cuff a suspect who is violently resisting, even with several officers.
