Is the TJ07 the most flexible case for watercooling?

I've been posting in the General Hardware sub forum and have pretty much much decided on the following spec-

newbuild.jpg

I am having second thoughts on the case, not sure why, maybe because I used to have a TJ10 and got rid of it late last year and fancy something different, although it is huge, it may not be the best for water.

I will not be watercooling my rig immediately. I'd rather wait a few months, save up some more money and do it right. I would like to w/c cpu, gpu and chipset and would like to keep it all inside the case.

The TJ07 looks very flexible, although I cannot see them available to buy at the moment on the site:confused:

I've never had a Lian Li, can someone throw some options at me please. I am not keen on the coolermaster stuff, I find them a bit bling (no offence!!). I prefer the look of the Silverstone and Lian Li, bit more understated.

I would like something with lots of space and flexibility as I would like it to last a while!

I used to have an Asetek WC system a year or 2 ago, but it was rather crude in comparision to what is available today. I would like to think that this has given me a reasonable understanding of W/C

In the TJ07 the location of the rad seems ideal, I presume the reservoir would sit in a 5.25" drive bay (or 2) - where would the pump go? I am sure I saw a pic somewhere of someone inverting a 5.25" drive bay plate inside the drive bay cage and fixing to that.

If anyone has any good internal shots of the TJ07 (or something similar) I would really appreciate it - I need some inspiration!!!

Thanks

ATCS isnt't bling bling.

If you want quad radiator then TJ07 and Lian Li V2010/2110 are pretty much only models which can take it easily to lower chamber. TJ07 has already cheese grater lower chamber so it wouldn't need making holes to sides. Both could also take other radiator to top. (both needing making holes)
Just google for "tj07 watercooled" and you'll find plenty of stuff, XtremeSystems has maybe the best thread
If you don't need many drive/device bays then those are pretty much the most versatile cases for water cooling.

Lian Li A70/71 and their derivates could take triple radiator to top while retaining most features. (7 HDD bays)

TJ10's intake is very seriously blocked so wouldn't keep it as well designed case but as fashion bling bling.

link in sig has the res's mounted on the drive bay cover :)

TJ-07 is pretty good, unless your aiming to get two rads in the case. Can only fit a thin rad in the roof and that requires some modding as well

Thanks for the replies.

It's definitely the TJ07 I want, the only problem is OcUK do not stock it and they cannot order them singularly.....I asked. I wonder how many they would need to order.....and if anyone else wants to order one. I would much prefer to give my money to OcUK than anyone else!

Anyway, it's definitely the one. After trawling through the link you posted it seems amazing what you can do inside one, so much space.

Quad rad and pump in the bottom, several option for different reservoirs. All good.

Thanks again!

I bought my TJ07 for around £220 from OcUK in january i believe and the price steadily increased upto aroudn £300 until it disappeared from the site, OcUK are probably waiting for stock.

Standard the TJ will take triple/quad rad and a dual rad in the lower compartment, a thin dual rad in the roof and with some heavy moddage another dual rad in the 5.25" bays.

So potentially 10x 120mm coolage :)

Where is everyone else getting there TJ07 Black with window from?

Its bizarre. No-one seems to have any stock as far as I can make out.

Are Silverstone going out of business?

Would be a tight squeeze in the bottom but has been done a few times, the rad in the roof is pretty naff as literally only one rad will fit (the black ice GT)

Never really thought of using the front bays but wouldn't really be ideal.

I think the only real advantage of a TJ-07 is that it can take rads with no mods needed in the bottom compartment.

Also Silverstone are not going out of business! Just the case seems to have really gotten popular recently (noticed so many build logs on here now using this case!)

So where are people getting them?

Its a serious pain to find one.

I am thinking of ditching it and seeing if I can get a Lian Li PC-V2010B with Window. Only thing is that the air cooling doesn't look to be as good. And also finding that one with a window is none too easy either.

Seriously. If anyone has dibs on where they bought either of those I would like to know.

we wouldn't be able to say due to the forum rules mate, will have to hunt youself if you want to go elsewhere..

The akasa omega is a rather nice case for watercooling too, though you dont see as many of them around these days. It'll take a 240 in the roof and a 120 on the exhaust, and a 120 or 160 on the front intake if you remove the hard drive bay. A lot of space for pumps and so forth as well

I managed to get a PA120.3 and a PA120.2 in the lower compartment of my TJ07 by sandwiching them and using 5x 120mmx38mm fans which leaves me 5mm each side :)

Would be happy to buy it here. But they don't sell it.

Seeing as that is the case I don't see the conflict.

I can't buy what they don't sell.

Which, incidentally, seems slightly insane on overclockers part. There is clearly a huge demand for the TJ07 with the window. Bearing in mind they have such buying power, you would think they would buy a bulk load of them. At the right price they would shift the lot very easily.

As it is, I will hunt around.

MMMM got to disagree about the GT stealth have been surprised on how good it is, cooled better than my 240 feser and was on par with my PA 120.3 (but with stronger fans/more noise) but that might have something to do with the fan layout i used to have.
Got to agree though the T07 is very RAD friendly can get a 480 in the bottom and a 360 in the roof (just not one of the fat ones !!) can also fit a 480 and a 240 sandwich in the bottom, and the new PA140s will fit in the bottom when they come out. build quality is good and its easy to mod aswell.

Stuarts a email me and i will send you a link to where you can get your T07!! or just type in watercooling to google and use the first link ;)

I wonder if the PA120.4 would fit? cant seem to find any dimensions though :(

Good luck finding one to put a rad in.

I have so far looked at over 10 shops that are out of stock. (Tried the 'watercooling' suggestion. Thanks. Their telephone number is not recognised which is not a good sign. In any case they are showing as 5-7 day dispatch. So they would be getting them in from the distributor)

Ended up phoning the distributor. I would forget the TJ07B-W unless you are willing to wait another two weeks. Stock on the ground is dry as a bone as far as I can see.
