You will be pleased to know........she has arrived!!

Driving to work today doing 60mph I was getting 42mpg with the A/C on.

Happy days :)

I've managed 45MPG with the A/C this was brief town drive and the rest motorway at 60 ish.

I'm doing 300 mile trip in the next few weeks, I'm going to see if she can manage 50 :D

It's one thing I absoloutely adore about the cars how economical they actually are, at the North North meet and Rover416 and Darryn will confirm this as I reset the MPG computer at each stop and showed them on the last stop, it never creeped below 30MPG dispite me sitting above 4k pretty much all day :D

I have heard of 182's doing 52mpg so it should be possible.

I managed 39.5mpg doing 70-75mph to work today.

Unfortunately my trip computer resets when I leave the car for a long period of time. It appears this is one of the first signs the battery is on it's way so I have ordered a new one for £40 - I will then be able to get a decent idea of what I am getting to a tank etc.

What's with buying a hot hatch, then agonising over the MPG figures? If you were that fussed about it then you should have bought a diesel or a 1.2.

Who is agonising?

Aslong as it is over 35mpg I don't care. I haven't changed my driving style just because I have gone from a 1.6 to a 2.0l.

I just think it is pretty impressive the figures it is coming back with for a 2.0l petrol.

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to read a Clio thread without reminiscing a certain something. Especially when people say they bought an immaculate 172 for £3450! :D

I wonder what Car Craft would have charged for that, slap another zero on the end and you might have your answer!

Agonising?, don't be ridiculous. Its just nice to have a fast car that can return nice figures if it wants to

Maybe it came across that I was driving slowly to see what MPG I could get. Due to the ammount of HGV's that use the B road I travel to work on, it is unsafe to overtake on most of the route so it is easier just to stick behind them.
