I'm going to get a lot of heat for this, but I regret buying Valkyrie Chronicles on the PS3. Everything I heard and saw of this game was fine, it all seemed really good. Only when I started playing it I found out it just isn't what I had hoped for. The story and animation I liked, gameplay not so much. It was just too tedious and repetitive for my liking.

What was your last bad gaming purchase?

Farcry 2.

Truly terrible game with no cohesion, god awful voice acting and poor game direction.

/awaits Streeteh to disagree with you about Valkyria Chronicles! :p

You're just wrong rob :p

Nah, i can see why people wouldn't like it, it is very much a slow paced game.

I wish i hadn't bought Guitar Hero IV, it's just rubbish imo. It just feels so much 'cheaper' than Rock Band, has very little music that i'm interested in and the guitar keeps breaking (which is the main reason i bought it; i needed an extra guitar and that seemed like the best value for money purchase). I regretted buying Lair (for a tenner) less tbh, that shows how utterly disappointed i was with it.

I like to think i have a good sense of things before games come out, hence why i rarely buy something utterly dross. Examples would be both Spore and Farcry 2; both games i said would be rubbish before they were released and it looks like (going by the majority of opinions i've read on the forums) i was right.

I really wanted to like it. I just can't seem to get it any games at the moment. :(

How far have you got? To be fair it has a pretty slow start, but once you get into it a bit it does pick up. That said it does remain fairly slow all the way through in comparison to what seems to be your games of choice at present (NHL 3 on 3 seems to be the game you always play)

Either Farcry 2 (Got caught by the previews - it did sound amazing!) or MSG4 after waiting 43 minutes after inserting the disk I got to interact with an enemy. Never played any of other three but this just seemed pointless, put it back in it's case about 30 minutes later then took it back to get got a refund.

Empire: Total War

It's not a bad game but never really spent the time needed to get in to it. Don't think I can sell it either since you have to register it on steam lol.

Shadow of Colossus.

 did he just say Shadow of Colossus?

The mechanics have aged way too much. I hadn't played the game in the original PS2 days and can fully apperciate how awesome it would have been back then as killing the Colossus' is awesome. But I just cannot get on with the controls, it's just way too clunky now and is there anyway to tell where you are suppose to go? Ive been travelling for ages and don't know what I'm suppose to be doing?

The controls are clunky but still playable. Just hold up your sword in the air and when a beam of light points to a direction, go there.

You know the button that makes him hold his sword in the air? Hold that and look around while doing so, eventually it will 'focus' a beam of light pointing somewhere. There lies the colossus.

Call Of Duty 4 - couldn't be bothered with the single player campaign, and swiftly realised the only reason I was playing the MP mode through gritted teeth was the vague possibility of getting a chopper in and for the XP up screen at the end of the match. This was as opposed to playing for enjoyment, team win and satisfaction. Terrible MP map design too.

I've owned it twice now too, the 2nd time "to give it a chance because I might have been picky".

lol im not a complete fool.

i RENT games before i buy them.

90% of the time i complete those rented games within the week and 99% of them have no REPLAY value at all. all in all saving me Loads of money.

Cant stand people who just see the trailer then think the games amazing, buy the game them right away, play/complete it once then never again... how stupid do they have to be.

siiiiigh
