Just a warning to those that were considering stomping all over my stats. The anticipated delivery date of my new work cruncher is 26 June :)

I'd throw an evil grin as the specs are as follows:

Intel Xeon Quad core 3.2 Ghx
12 GB DDR3
NVidia Quadro FX580

So, thats 4 cores of high power and a CUDA card too :)

Prepare for the lights to go dim around here!!

Oooooh nice :D That should certainly kick out some serious points.

Can Seti make use of the four 'fake' HT cores as well?

Damn you Sir, you are taking all the fun out of life. I will stomp you before then, maybe today, but it will only be for 2 weeks or so.
Is that machine for crunching only or do you plan on doing anything else with it?

Yes, I think seti can use the additional HT cores

The machine is going to run a VMware environment of one W2K3 server and 2 XP workstations as part of my OS and application deployment testing for work. It'll be paused while it's running the VM environment, but full throttle when its not ;)

Consider yourself stomped Sir

I know its only for a while, but enjoyable none the less :D
Expecting the return stomp in a couple of weeks

I am indeed stomped. Your RAC is about 3 times what mine is at the moment. I think I might have to pull a few of the old P4 2.8s off the disposal shelf and set them up as *ahem* test PCs :)

I wouldn't worry too much..
Im running at absolute maximum and now its gone past the middle of the month, I start turning machines off when I go to work to save leccy, so my RAC will drop a bit now.
Laughed at the P4 bit - I have one running linux at work with a 2000Mhz cpu and it seems so slow, I think it has an RAC of 190  It to is a 'test box'
You will soon fly by when that beast of yours comes online..

Its arrived :)

Just put Vista business 64 Bit on and getting it ready for the rest of Office and Support Tools before getting it onto my list of crunchers.

Will sadly be saying goodbye to the AMD6000+ under my desk that has worked so hard on BOINC.

Looking at 8 CPUs at 3.2 Ghz (4 physical, 8 with HT) and the NV 580 card with CUDA.....I think it might start getting a little warmer in here soon :)

Will let you all know how it evens out after a week of crunching cobblies :)

Well, its up and running, BOINC went on tonight and it will start crunching from tomorrow. Watch my RAC over the next week or so, expecting quite a few cobblies from this!! :D

Well, I think I'm going to have to let it run for a week to get a true overview of the stats for this particular client. The standard WUs I have are going through at about 1h15m and the CUDA WUs at 1h00m.

I've got it running on 4 cores as I'm currently building a VMWare environment and need the extra power to get that running smoothly, once all thats done, I'll ramp it up to use the full 8 (4 physical, 4 Hyperthreaded).

I still have an 8800GTX sat at home doing nothing which is a shame! Perhaps time to get it off on Ebay!

Damn, with all the problems with seti at the moment, I think you will be catching me sooner rather than later as I have no cuda wu's left, 3 cards sitting idle now

Well my new rig seemed to be having lots of problems uploading completed WUs at the back end of last week. That might be the configuration of the new content filters and firewalls that went in on Wednesday not allowing communication with the servers but that remains to be seen. My RAC has jumped from 3-4000 up to 7000+ over the last two days so I wonder if the problems have sorted themselves out???
