Hey guys. Thought I would show you a little toy I've been sent to look at and play with.

Overall Build Quality - The case seems very well built, the older bigger brother full sized skeleton was not as rigid as it's little brother. Antec have fitted soft rubberised feet on the four corners of the base, they grip my desk well, they seem quite soft, so maybe prone to a bit of wearing away if you move the case regularly, opnly time will tell on this though.

Power & Reset buttons - These are sturdy, easy to use buttons, made flush against the case so there will be no accidental resets, or power downs if/when you brush the case.

Cooling - The chassis has 2 fans as standard, there is the larger 150mm Tri-Cool fan blowing air down onto the motherboard and CPU giving excellent cooling at a quiet speeds, this fan has a build in speed switch with 3 speeds, much similar to other gaming cases from Antec, this allows you to balance airflow with noise to meet your requirements.
The other fan is a standard 70mm Antec fan, which is positioned at the rear bottom of the chassis giving good air flow to the PSU and drive bays. This fan sacrifices faster air flow for near silent operation, but the cooling performance is not affected due to the open nature of the chassis. High CFM's are not needed.

Niggles - If I were to buy this case (and if I was to build a mITX system, I would go for this case) then job number one would be to braid all the cabling as it's not braided, this would help the air flow and make for a much neater looking system.

Summary - In essence, something new to the mITX world, looking at our other mITX cases, and others available currently, they all feature very similiar looks and styles, this case however is innovative, a show piece ideal for your home entertainment area that will have your friends asking what it is. If you want something different quirky and even overclockable in a mITX format this really is the chassis to house your system. Only of the biggest restrictions with mITX is cooling, thus reducing any overclocking capabilites and the space inside your case you have to work with, this has the potential to redefine what mITX can be capable of.

i always said the Skeleton was better suited to a mini ITX format, although very nice in its design, i found the Skeleton case very bulky, i am seriously thinking about getting this little cracker.

thanks for the review Ace

WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED OF THIS

wait till i see Yewen!, witholding vital 'new case' info from me!!!

What's the included PSU like? I'm tempted to swap my ITX build out of my SG05 and into one of these for ****s and giggles.

Edit: just seen that it's 90W. No thanks, I'll pass.

It does look nice and different, and I prefer it that size to its big brother, however there are a couple of practical issues that would put me off.

Why waste all that space on a full size 5.25'' bay then only have 2.5'' size hard drives? I'd much rather have a laptop optical drive and space for some full size big capacity hard drives if it's going to be a NAS or HTPC.

Also if you are going to use it for some "mighty mouse" style overclocking then a beefier PSU and room for a full size graphics card would be useful.

It would have been nice to see it with a system inside it, but I guess you don't want too many opened boxes to put into the B-grade. (But if you want to sell me a cheap Zotac 9300 I'd be very grateful!)

PK!

Exactly, 90w is useless for anything but an Atom board. Even the Zotac 9300 board for a Core2Duo will not be able to run on a 90w PSU with any kind of stability.

This is the reason why out of the ITX cases I've looked at, only the Silverstone Sugo with the 300w psu is actually suitable.

i was trying to spec up a zotac 9300 that would run a C2D the other day i managed to work it out to max load of 88 Watts i think but thats probably pusing it a bit :)

The C2D 5200 would run on it. Really any C2D chip would run on a 90w PSU easily if only the Zotac 9300 board allowed you to undervolt the chip; but unfortunately it does not.
