Youtube D/L speeds

Has anyone else been experiencing tediously slow video streaming on youtube? These past weeks or so I've noticed it getting incredibly slow, even to steam the smallest of clips.

I like youtube, I enjoy using the site, it's a free service and for these reasons I can't really complain but to know it's not just me and my internet connection would be nice. :p
 
Yup it has been bad for me for a couple of weeks now. Videos not playing or just being really slow to buffer.
 
4chan probably ... growing to hate these geeks and what they've done. I've got a 7 year old niece and they have really sickened me. Yes the net is a bad place but come on attaching pron to hannah montana is depraved.

I actually started letting my 4 year old watch youtube gummibear vids etc for fun. I'd be spitting feathers if that happened to me.


For those that thought it was funny you'll have kids one day....
 
If your on BT its not suprising - they throttle video streaming now on a lot of people regardless of if your on option 1 or not...
 
Very slow for me too. I'm on Sky Broadband, I assumed they just took some one else's services and put there name on it. Anyone know who's it is?
 
It's been getting progressively slower as more people get to know about it...simple as.

And it's nothing to do with BT (although they may be slow in general - but it doesn't explain slow Youtube videos at 4am when most can max out torrents at 8meg). Viewing in our work (even on nights) is getting slower and we have multiple dedicated T Carrier lines, most people I know have differing ISPs - all slower (and not throttled/traffic shaped in any way)

Youtube is maxed out me thinks & I can't see it being too long before they either start charging - or start flooding us with too many ads before the vids or even more pop-ups. At the end of the day - they are a business, and the more well known they get (yes all those people in Mongolia and even your Great Granny is watching those old Mr and Mrs & they are all You-Tubing these days you know) - the bigger infrastructure they need.

It has to be paid for some way.

Yup, incredibly slow. Probably 80% of the videos I try to load don't over the past few weeks.

Surely 4chan can't be responsible for youtubes gradual deterioration?
 
Yep, last two weeks some videos have been fine and some are so slow I have to wait 10 mins before I can watch one.
