Anything better than a Henry vacuum for ~£100?

We have two Hetti's and a Henry and I thought they were as good as vacuum cleaners got and that hoovering had to be that arduous. We've now got a Dyson Animal (fair enough, it is a fair bit more expensive) and hoovering has never been so easy. We use it for post wedding hoovering, so there is loads and loads of rubbish to get rid of both in the house and the marquee. The Dyson rises to the challenge magnificently () but the other three made the job ten times harder.

Again Dysons are the only make who hold a full back log of parts and can be totally refitted cheaply so it makes sense just to buy a refurb one for a fraction of the price.

Miele S380 can be had for £100. I don't know that much about that specific model but the Miele I have is infinitely better as a vacuum cleaner than any of the Dyson's I had and the Henry I used to use years ago (although perhaps they are better now). The engineering and build quality is second to none and the suction is quite incredible.

i'd buy new and support dyson myself

we have had a dyson dc03 or whatever for around 7 years now and after 5 years the cover over the hepa filter that the cyclone unit sits on had snapped at the hinges from wear so caused a big loss in suction.

dyson sent us out a new part even though it was out of warranty no questions asked.

although i'd probably get a miele cat and dog hoover like my parents have if i had to buy a new hoover

ive gone off dsyons, they look and work great - to begin with, then after about 18 months they just go downhill, ive had 2 now in the last 3 or 4 years and im looking for a replacement, probably just get a cheap panasonic off ebay......
