***The Official iPhone 3.0 Thread***

Yes you can. It's on the menu bar, i carnt remember which option you go to, just hover over all of them and look for Authorize. Click it will come up saying "you have authorized 2 out of 5 computers"

How do you do that? Does that mean that i could update my iphone and sync to two different computers?

Dont know exactly but when I just did it it wanted to remove all the music on my iPhone and replace with what I have on this machines iTunes, but if everything is same on each machine I dont see why not?

Shouldn't do if you back your iphone up first in itunes. It might even prompt you to do so when you try and upgrade. Although manually do it first just in case.

No, not if you do an upgrade and not a restore, but you should always backup just incase. If you have your iPhone JB, then you will loose all that, and have to start again, there is an app that will make a backup of what you had installed tho to make it a little less painfull

Remember it's up to Apple, O2 or any other network don't have control over the release as it's the same package that contains all the languages and carrier bundles. Engadget are saying 6PM at the moment.

Does upgrading to 3.0 wipe the iphone clean

Upgrade: No
Restore: Yes

iTunes backs up the phone each time it is synced. If you wipe an iPhone you can always restore it from a backup too, which is nice if yours dies or if you accidently wipe it when you meant to upgrade. Personally, I prefer to restore than upgrade.. it feels cleaner :p

nothing surfaced as yet? Im at work and can't check. Wonder if they will have the activation issues again with so many people requesting on the same day.
