If you grew carrots in space, would they still be pointy?

Which I feel would totally vindicate the operation and having your carrots grown in space..

Helix Carrots = Fun

Oh I concur! Although I forsee an issue with the cutting of said carrots. It could be eaten whole, but if cutting was required I believe we would have to invent a whole new tapered helix carrrot cutting tool.

which way does my carrot grow? .
I doubt mavity has any effect on which way it grows.
Leaves and stem towards the light and roots into the soil.

Why are carrots pointy, if you know that then you can surmise if it would remain. I suspect they are pointy to make burrowing into the soil easier, so at a guess they would remain.

But if you, as SteveOBHave suggested, used hydroponics instead, and spun them slowly in space in a transparent container, then you may still be able to achieve the tapered helix carrot that I seek.
