Street Fight IV PC-Benchmark Released

xbox 360 pad for windows the best gamepad to get for this?

As streeteh said, the best 'cheap' option would be the sega USB pad, the more fun option however would have to be a fightstick.

The madcatz pads are ok if they are working, I have one for the PS3 and since it was repaired its been fine and is by far the best pad for SF4.

Imo no, the d-pad is atrocious. If i were to get a pad i'd look at the saturn USB pads. It's basically the same as the madcatz official street fighter 4 pads but a little smaller and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Avoid the official SF4 pads too, loads of folks tried them in the console section and all of them broke, really poorly made.

The saturn pad i'm referring to is this one btw:

I've just finished modding my 360 wireless DPAD using the videos I linked above.

Now the Dpad is much better and has clicky feedback.

Excellent for fighting now.

*fires up SNES*

im still really impressed i get an average of 49 with full high on everything and 2xAA 1680x1050 on a 2 year old 8800 gts :)

What fightstick do people recommend, i would like the best one where i won't have to build/mod it, just the best stright out of the box

i really dont like the new filters they added to this version
does anyone else think they should have made it affect the whole screen instead of just the fighters?

the street fighter te fightstick for 360 would be best out of the box but it costs about £150

Straight out of the box? The xbox 360 madcatz tournament edition stick. It will set you back the best part of £150 though.

Modding the Standard edition madcatz stick is very very easy though and will save you £30-40 depending on which components you mod it with. No soldering is required, it just involves a few screws and about an hour of your time.

would the 360 flightstick work with a pc though? not that i'd buy one anyway. just something good i can easily buy in uk for around £20-£30?

Yes a 360 fightstick will work on the PC.

You won't get anything particularly good for £20-30, i would recommend anything Hori though; they seem to be the best sticks at affordable prices. Whether they work on the PC or not i don't know.

well from just observing the results. however, after a second look the big difference seems to be between crossfire and sli. the 4870x2 vastly outperforms the gtx 295 judging from some results. a driver could fix that probably.

could be people cheating on their settings you know, this is not die hard evidence or anything. Other settings are also factors.

You can get the excellent Hori Fight Stick 3/EX 2 for £35-40 (Could be had for £20 before the SFIV hype machine rolled in), which is by far the best value for money stick you can get.

My stick modding thread in consoles may be of use to some of you: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13810169#post13810169

Both PS3 and 360 sticks work on PC's but the PS3 fight sticks have compatibility issues with some setups.

exellent info thanks :) so what would be best on a winxp sp3 setup? the ps3 hori arcade stick or the xbox EX 2? though i don't like the look of the EX2 bleeuurr.

the Real Arcade Pro 3 looks pretty good too ;)

Certainly go for the 360 stick if its hori, the PS3 horis are a right pain to get working on PCs.

It's only the madcatz ps3 stick that works with PCs without much effort, but even then there are compatibility issues with older AMD chipsets. For PC arcade stick use, when in doubt, go 360.
