lottery winner !!

do the sort of people who buy for profit just stick it in a garage with all its delivery wraps on then ?

i assumed that they'd already have token those off.

If you're buying it with the express intention of selling it "as new", why would you take the packaging off?

Hassle, lottery winners hardly make the newspapers these days, also they dont go round trying to get snaps of the winners, you always see the winners at a press conference outside with a big cheque and bottle of champagne.

Probably works for Nissan or won the pools, If I won the lottery, I am talking the jackpot not £100k I would be buying a supercar.

he's a self employed sign writer and auto electrician

he did the SMD conversion on my dash and ive met him a few times.

As for ammount won, he was using nurburgring lap times as a yard stick. On that front the GTR is faster than most "supercars" round the ring. So thats what he won.

Agree He cant have won several million, otherwise id be having a ferrari and a GTR and lambo lol :D

The dealer will leave the interior and exterior wrap on if requested but you'll have to sign a waiver stating that the PDI could not be completed. It's a horrible generalisation, but it's really sort of common in blue-collar America...including leaving all the plastic on new suites.

You can buy the jacket in any Nissan HPC if that's your sort of thing. Same as the die-cast model.

He's got running lights installed so unless he specifically asked for them, they were optioned by whoever pulled out of the purchase. All cars in the UK are allocated, they isn't any stock of so to speak, just cancelled orders that lost their deposit because they did not notify their HPC before the build. Waiting list is still there unless you grab a slot or pay the speculators premium, late 2010 right now.

edit: if it is a cancelled build via a HPC, he will have paid the list price I would have thought, but not the pre-hike price.

How did The Sun find out about his win? surely the lottery organisers leaking such info would be a breach of privacy?

Or did he tell someone who told someone who told the Sun?

If I won I'd only tell my parents and no one else!

By playing you adhere to their terms and conditions and that includes publicity. I believe you can opt for anonymity though.

The tabloids regularly put a 'Do you know the winner? Call us if you do.' footnote at the bottom of their reports of the previous days lottery result.

as already said,

they have a good sniff. "lotto lout is wife beating benefit cheat" will make the headlines. So they ring round and ask a few questions.

if theres no dirt they just move on. But its no surprise the papers came snooping.

You get a team from Camelot themselves that deal with publicity if you dont want it, they also deal with all the threats you DO get if you do win.

I know if I won i wouldnt make it public, I would be dead a week later for not paying it all to some thug!

I can understand why he has kept the plastic on the interior but why would the car still have the delivery sticker on the windscreen ?, you can make it out very clearly in windscreen on the passenger side on the internal pic.

Pretty sure that's the shipping sticker with the VIN. I'm guessing he asked for the car to not be touched inside...again, this is sort of common in the US, or at least used to be. Every car has a window sticker with the full list price and options and no indication of dealer discount. Used to always be stuck to the passenger window and can only be removed by the buyer. So people used to leave them in to indicate a new car and how much they (potentially) paid.

the guy who started the thread does details for other vxr owners. Hes got a rotary etc..

so hes definately the sort to ask the dealer not to touch it and get nige to machine polish it for him.

Smart move if he did, the paint is like butter. I told them to PDI it (transport dings and the like), so remove the shipping wrap but no wash or wipedown. Most of the HPCs are claiming they are Autoglym "trained", which is a bit alarming considering the **** -poor state of some of the GT-R's being delivered, the one Polished Bliss recently did is a prime example amongst other complaints at GTROC.
