I've just signed up to Twitter to get a better feel for what it is all about. First impressions were that it is a good idea. Now, 3 hours later wtih 14 followers who know nothing about me, I am not so sure! I mean there are people with 50,000 followers and they follow 100,000 people! Surely that means your twitter account is just a continuous stream of tweats from complete strangers, yes?

Someone....please explain!

Do Twitter and Radio 1 have some sort of media deal going on? I thought the BBC wasn't allowed to advertise. The public pay for the BBC to run yet they are constantly advertising this networking site? How is this allowed?
 
Interesting. How did you pick up 14 followers in three hours?

I've got my main Twitter account where I follow around 100 people and have around 100 followers but I signed up a new account a few days ago as an experiment. I've not followed anyone and have been sensibly tweeting at regular intervals throughout the day. It's been active for nearly a week and it has one follower.
