***The Official iPhone 3.0 Thread***

Going through my Apps, I realise how many (free and paid) that I'm no longer fussed about and probably won't put back on :s
 
Iphone nuts please help me i really dont have a clue

I clicked restore, it downloaded the update it then unpacks, backs up the phone and then i get this error -

activation server is unavailable
 
Well due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up late to the party.

I'm 50% through the install now - Didn't seem to have any of the problems you guys have suffered (touch wood) so maybe my delay in getting home tonight has been a blessing in disguise.

I'll post again with my first impressions in a bit.

Just wanted to keep you all informed as I'm sure you are concerned and didn't want to actually read any useful information in the ****official**** 3.0 OS thread about the actual 3.0 OS
 
Is it just me, or does the iPhone seem really sluggish with V3.0? Took a good 3-4 seconds to load the 'brightness' option in settings.

Im hoping its just a case of the search app indexing everything in the background.

Odd. Seems fine now...?
MMS's wont send though. :(

What were you expecting? :p

I'm all installed. Really like cut, copy and paste - everything seems a bit snappier. I'm not sure I like the increased leading on the text for SMS though.

i love how you can now delete certain sent txt messages :) and if your on the home screen, if you press the home button once, it takes you to search :)

Everything is very snappy for me, loving it so far. Only thing that's got me so far is the fact that when I was on 2.2 and jail broken, I used sbsettings to hide the "stocks" app. When I installed 3.0 I did a full restore and then restored my settings from my last backup. Since I'm not jail broken anymore I usually move all the apps I dont use to page 2 or 3 and on looking for the "stocks" app, its no where to be found! Veird...

I usually just panic and go for the full on 'clear' and sometimes delete contact

Have you tried again?
Go to Devices > iPhone > Summary > Check for Update

Mine did the same as yours, clicked check for update again and it worked fine.

That's a point - I did the same with SBSSettings (god I miss it massively) and those two apps aren't anywhere! Good riddance :p
 
I knew I should have waited! Phone has updated ok but no apps work and I cant re-install any of them due to itunes store being down. Damed annoying when you're half way through an ebook.

Cut and paste and voice memo work well. If apple would just liberate the file store then I would almost have the fuctionality of my six year old pda.
 
Can anyone get Mail to shut up. I have my two Windows Live Accounts setup for use and after the intial download of the entire Inbox, it seems to want to fire down the ones I have just deleted again not 5 minutes later. This is the third time now.:mad:
