Just bought oblivion on steam.

bear in mind its gunna take 24hrs on my **** of a connection to download.

When Oblivion, Morrowind and Call of Cthulhu was added to Steam for the first time the other day (16th), it went straight in with a 20% discount which is valid until tomorrow. What this means is that the price you paid for it the other day is the same price it is now. You have not lost out

£12.17 = GOTY Edition + "Nine" DLC <--- I'm guessing you bought this version
£9.74 = GOTY Edition

i just bought the £17:53 pack saves the trouble of looking for my old discs and i know ill play them both at least once, im guessing thats about 6 hours per pound so it was well worth the money

Yeah it will work. The problem was with the original installers of the DLC on X64 operating systems iirc. These will be pre-installed into the game folder so will work fine. The DLC worked on X64 before but you had to install it on X86 first and copy the installed DLC folder across

That was sudden. It was supposed to be at the low prices I posted above until the end of tomorrow. The 20% discount still applies but they've raised their RRP. For example...

Oblivion GOTY Deluxe Steam-RRP was originallly £15.21 before the discount (see my screencap above, first item, see the "crossed out" price), now the Steam-RRP has increased to £24.99 before the discount.

So it's not that they've stopped the 20% discount early, they've bumped up the before discount price!

Glad I bought mine shortly after posting that screenshot earlier today. Unlucky for anyone else though
