Petrol price future?

I don't see prices going back up to how they were last year for sometime, as we're still in a recession so consumption is down.

Stop moaning about and do something about it.

It is the Govornments fault they take samething like 65p per liter wtf and there keep increaseing it roughly every 6 months.

we have rached oil peek and with deemand from places like China we will have to fork the bill unless we do something about it

But like a true British nation we are, we will just make a joke about it laugh it off text it to a few friends maon about it on internet and never actually do anything about it.

Give me a sec, ill use the £6.78 in my back pocket.
To update the electric grid to allow charging whilst people park, and ill spend the spare change on free subsidies and tax breaks for companies producing viable alternatives...

If the goverment spent the same amount of cash on the independant auto industary as they did with the bank's and upgraded the parking to a charge and park scheme, then petrol prices would be such a issues and we'd have a semi independant econamy.

But unfortunatly this will never happen.

You do realise that oil is a bussines? And this bussines has a stranglehold on it's area on the market.
And as a bussiness its main aim is to increase profit's, which as their is no real compeitors results in the issues we ahve to day.

The oil companies need competition, For us to get a better deal with prices

let me worry about my spelling its no concern of yours

i get by just fine

When you are trying to pass comment on a highly complex subject it is prudent to ensure your posts come across in an educated fashion, or you run the risk of people disregarding them.

Like I have.

Good to see Fox is on form :p

If it takes until this time next year that's fine by me, by then I'll be fed up of 25mpg or will have cut my miles down a lot :)

Learn to drive everywhere in 5th gear, i had to do that this winter.
luckly my shed can do 30 mph in 5th at 100 revs over idle speed...

Fair enough

but did you get what i was trying to say???

I would have thought so

So dont worry about it thanks for pointing it out and taking your time to post about it but really the only person that needs to worry half as much about it as you, is me.

unless its a important document im not too conserned but thanks for passing judgement on me for my spelling.

Don't oil/fuel prices basically decide the price of everything else? It all has to be transported to the shops we buy it from, if that costs more, then we have to spend more for the same items. Yet they want us spending more money to help the economy? We should all buy new cars to help keep the manufacturers in business and help people keep their jobs? Scrap this stupid £2k for ur old banger scheme.. give a way a year's free petrol with any new car, that'll get us down the garages!

Oh dear fox is going to have fun with the post above mine.. i had to read it 3 times before it remotely made sense.

wouldn't work unfortuantely. The petrol companies would just raise the price of the fuel to "deal with the increase in requirement".
The only way of keeping the oil prices in the uk down are either:
* Cut the fuel tax drastically But like the vat cut, most companies would just raise the price by the percentage of the cut.
* Produce a suitable competitor product, to keep the companies honest.
* Split up the oil comapines and regualte the comunication's to prevent oil price fixing, like the did in america in the late 80's i think.

Other than these three thing's any other idea is pointless.

Well this is the thing that makes me laugh

around this time last year we were all told to walk everywhere or use public transport in the name of being "green"

Now they are telling as all to buy new cars humm??????

whats the hiden agender behind this wounderful plan

but did you get what i was trying to say???

Yes, you beleive we have passed the point of peak oil. This is a pretty huge statement to make - it undermines your credibility when it is made with:

a) Poor spelling
b) No backup/expansion on your opinion to justify your thoughts.

It gives me the impression you picked the phrase up off google rather than truely understand the concept.
