What a game.

When Afridi turns up for a game Pakistan will always be hard to beat, I was only really calm though when Kallis got out, with him there even if they needed 36 off the last over I would have been nervous.

Some of Pakistans tactics though. :confused:

Fawad Alam who is the son of someone 'important' just shows politics is still heavily involved in Pakistan cricket. They were going so well and for some unknown reason they decide to give Alam an over and he gets blasted for 15 runs and that opens things up again. As a result our best bowler, Umar Gul was only able to bowl 3 overs. Things like this can cost us games, they do the most stupid things sometimes.

Hope we face WI in the final now, Pak vs WI, two very unpredictable teams.

Agreed dont quite understand why Alam was bowling but hey he made up for it with that run out....got extremely lucky that it hit the stumps lol.

Definitely prefer Windies as i think we would beat them whereas SL will be a bit more tougher i imagine.

Just hoping that this yr is our yr

...make up for the bad yr and the last time we got to the final when we got beat by the Indians...

The thing is with both the Windies and Pakistan that if they turn up they can hammer anybody; players like Afridi and Gayle, while unpredictable and somewhat erratic, are match winners on their day. Based on form, it should have been a SA vs SL final, but both Pakistan and WI were both capable of winning...promised to be interesting, and has been so far

Great knock by Dilsan in the SL inning today, he was really unlucky not to get a ton, without him SL looked very poor with the bat

If you saw the dismissals you'd know that they were just freakish, I've never seen anything like that before.

Quite simply England didnt have what it took to beat them...was an interesting semi yesterday...3 wickets in one over :eek:

...that was a bit of freakish and after that i couldnt see the Windies beating them...too much pressure..shame really as i preferred to play the Windies.

But SL it is and it should be a cracker...2 teams both affected by the terrorist attacks in the final...who would have thought it eh??.

Personally id rather Paks win it and i really hope they do but if SL win then i wont be too saddened as they deserve it just as much...im just glad both India and SA are out as they were the 2 main threats...but both choked big time when it mattered

Was hoping to get some tickets for tommorrows final but at nearly £300 a pop...think im just gonna go over and watch it at my uncles place on his 60" plasma in high def

i went to see the pak v ire & eng v win the other week at the oval, was pretty good

1st match was great, weather was spot on and crowd was really alive, even the Ireland supporters, as soon as the 2nd match started, it started to rain lightly then heavier later on, there were hardly any windies supporters there, and the england crowd behind us were nuts, singing and dancing and taking their tops of in the heavy rain lol, further to the right at the balcony people were throwing all sorts, cheese, crackers and pouring beer down :eek:

during the rain the covers were on and someone stripped to their shorts and ran across the pitch and belly slid

and also behind a fight broke out, security and police came in.

actually someone was selling a pair of tickets for the final for cost yesterday (£140) but i decided against. I actually prefer to watch it on tv with the commentating and replays, at least you know whats going on

i hope pakistan win tomorrow but i reckon they will buckle under pressure as usual

Let's see what Dilshan does if Gul opens the bowling which I really hope he does!

Dont think Gul will open the bowling...hes not been effective when opening...Younis leaves him after the 12th over which i think is good as he gets the ball to reverse swing.

Just hope Pak can do it this time unlike last time when they should have beaten India.

Aye good going for the ladies, cruised home easily in the end. Wish the blokes could win as much as the women have recenlt.

Just won by 6 wickets, good result and going for the laydees...did a pretty good job of despatching the Kiwis for 85.

Yeah. Gul's effectiveness has been later in the innings when he gets some reverse swing. Pakistan bowling has to hit top form for them to win this match and with Afridi now bowling well, this should be an exciting game.
