Americas Army 3 - free game - pre-load now on Steam

I'm guessing a lot of these freezing/black screen/problems are caused by the game not being able to communicate with the central server.
I understand its free, so I'm not really complaining (plus ARMA2 should be here tomorrow, so I couldn't give a rats ***
) but a message on the main site would be nice to let people know whats actually happening, how/if they plan to fix it...

Downloaded -> tried to play -> downloading a patch -> estimate wait 1hour @700Kbps -> deleted -> dont care
Well that was fun. Tried to create an account, entered by details, hit 'next' it freezes for a minute and the 'next' button vanishes so i have to cancel. Tried to login anyway in case it had worked and it crashes to desktop after 'encountering a problem'.

It's logging back in for me now. So the Auth servers are working IMO.
Going to leave this one for a few days...only so many times I can do the obsticle course and basic firearms only to find that my progress hasn't been saved and I have to do them again!!
The beta actually allowed you to get throught the training!
Guess their servers are up the spout at present really want to give it a try as never got into the previous AAs - but with Arma 2 on the way doubt AA3 will get touched very much!

Word on the official forums is that the Dev team got laid off on launch day... OOPS. Looks like there won't be any updates for a while. For me it's back to AA2.

Can anyone confirm if it works on WIn7 cos i'm getting freezes when i start training;.
It took 5 attempt for me to pass rifle range, all 40/40. What a waste of time.

I got 100% on the Rifle Course and It said I failed, kinda sucks they got laid off but no offence its kinda obvious why, anyway Arma 2 is in my hands tomorrow cant wait for it. As for a future update it will have to be the full game due to this ones horribleness.
