PS3 80GB £125.. blimey.

Yeah banks are pretty good these days with fraud, one of my credit cards has been targetted twice with lots of small payments going out, over a few months - didn't use that one myself for a few months so didn't notice until I got a phone call, good old paperless systems :)

The only stressful thing about it all was having to go through the list of payments saying whether I recognised them or not with an indian call centre empolyee.

Also, wow at the hindsight ****wits.

Gonna get rung back as manager is busy - he didnt sound euthastic as I explained the situation...

Well, I recently was a victim of card fraud on my Barclays debit card. They were very quick to get me a new card, and getting the money back took a couple of weeks, but it was relatively painless.

Though your case is slightly different, as you knowingly entered into the transaction. Still, I am sure they will be able to do something.

You actually paid this guy :eek:

Hahhaa, for gods sake people are you really all that silly to fall for this. If it was closer to the price sold for in shops then I could forgive you, but this screamed scam as soon as I saw the price and auction.

/facepalm

Man, I feel sorry for the people that paid him.

Hope you get your money back. I guess its one of those "you live your learn" moments

In this case it didn't look like the account was hijacked and the guy that left feedback with the refund looked genuine also.

You can argue it's people's stupdity but when impulse takes over it can do strange things to people.

Another prime example of how the auction site is utterly useless with their protection. Paypal is useless and misleading as by the time you are successful with the dispute the scumbag obviously has withdrawn the money from the account.

Didn't get no e-mail from ebay, (maybe it is only for those who paid or completed the transaction?) It has disappeared from my list of won/need to pay for items.

Unlucky ps3ud0 (if he is serious and not winding up the people on here).

The sad thing is, if t had been genuine, for whatever reason you would not have people here mocking others but sitting here like green eyed monsters :)

Don't see how this is different to the people posting here who spend their time looking on deal sites for misprices that will not be honoured etc. Or those who run round every store they can when they hear Guitar Hero is £19.

This is totally different than mispriced goods, consoles are usually sold at a loss already so how can someone sell a PS3 for 125 quid and not make a loss is almost impossible, the only way is stolen goods or a scam.

The first thing that popped in my head when seeing a new PS3 for 125 quid is a scam, not the fact I could sell it for 200 quid and make 75 quid profit.

Surely anyone who has paid for the item can just get Paypal to refund the money?

If I remember correctly it takes 5-7 days for Paypal to transfer the money to your account, so they could easily stop the transfer and refund the funds to the buyers...

I dont make enough to get the Barclays Black - not enough not to make me feel the cost - wish they would hurry up and call me :(

Is this a wind up? You seriously bought 10 with a DEBIT card?

Sorry, but if true, utter FAIL.

And if true, you likely won't get any money back because

a) You entered knowingly into the transaction
b) You paid with a DEBIT card

guys for future reference, if it seems to good to be true......its probably is.

Spot on and especially on ebay as well. If it had been some proper website you might pull it off but even then with the way things spread these days on internet and everyone tries to grab themselves a deal it becomes very obvious to them and they pull the deal.
