Hahaa. Bernie having a bit of fun there....
Nurburgring =! Nordschleife
Maybe the FOTA can go back to the A1 ring in Austria, I don't know why but I always liked that track (and Zandvoort off course as it is close to where I live)
it wont happen
there problem will be finding track to race on or should i say good safe upto date tracks.
the tracks that hold F1 races now wont be able to run them as there contracted to the FIA and tracks that want to run a F1 races in the future wouldnt want to upset the FIA
so that just leaves substandard tracks that arent safe for F1 cars
Give the guy a break, he's nearly 80 years old and his much younger and taller wife (http://static.richardyoungonline.com/photos/10701_large.jpg), who for tax avoidance reasons actually owns most of F1, left him a few months agoIt amuses me, to see the various interviews, and Bernie walking along, answering questions in a way that made it seem as though he doesn't actually have a clue as to what its all about.
The FIA’s lawyers have now examined the FOTA threat to begin a breakaway series. The actions of FOTA as a whole, and Ferrari in particular, amount to serious violations of law including wilful interference with contractual relations, direct breaches of Ferrari's legal obligations and a grave violation of competition law. The FIA will be issuing legal proceedings without delay.
Preparations for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship continue but publication of the final 2010 entry list will be put on hold while the FIA asserts its legal rights.
FIA's response.
Yay! It's all going legal.
Also - apparently Prodrive have removed their bid for a F1 seat. So even if those 8 teams do set up their own championship, there may not be enough teams to fill in in F1 with Lola and Prodrive withdrawing.
8 breakaway teams + Lola and Prodrive would be good.![]()
