It never seems to mention if the cards are 'reference'. I am looking to watercool but all the blocks (like this) say for reference design only.

Does anyone have experience with a specific block and specific 4870 X2

The Asus Tri-Fan one is definitely not reference but I'm fairly certain the XFX and Powercolor ones are.

Best bet is just to send in a webnote and they'll tell you which are and aren't, more certainty that way than on the forum.

Reference doesn't actually mean 'standard heatsink'. It could use the reference board but just have a different colour PCB and a different cooler.

There's been nothing stating that the Asus one isn't using the reference design, but then I can't say 100%.

Find out from Asus themselves. They'll be able to tell you. I'm pretty sure they have a UK based office you can contact.

Its common knowledge that the Asus Tri-Fan is not using the reference board layout and is not suitable for the full cover blocks, as far as im aware the rest of the cards are all reference.
