Any morning lifters here?

The last 3 Months have been rubbish for me. Had Tonsillitis twice and Mumps. Just about feeling better now so want to get back into the swing of things. I've lost some size even though I was far from 'built', which has really knocked me.

This being said I've been thinking about training in the morning. I'm not great at getting up so it's going to be an extra challange.

Besides getting a good breakfast is there anything I need to do before training in the morning. I'll get about 45 minutes with the weights 3 times a week.

Any major pro's/con's to training in the morning?

I would if I could but my gym doesn't open early enough for me :(

No problems with lifting early but bear in midn you'd need to get some food down you to give you some energy for the workout. It's a good way to wake up. :)

Luckily mine opens at 6am. I aim to get there around 7:30am for 45 minutes then to work for 8:45am

Any suggestions for a quick food fix before training? I was thinking about a handful of eggs and some beans?

After training I'll have 15 minutes to get something post workout. Any suggestions for that?

If mine opened at 5am I'd be fine, unfortunately I'm at work before 7am! :(

15 mins post workout? Easy.

Smoothie time! Don't worry about shakes, smoothies are much better! :D

Banana
Apple
Strawberries (or any other type)
Blueberries (or another fruit)
Natural set yoghurt (1/2 a pot)
Milk
Couple of handful of oats
Some cinnamon

Blend, and enjoy! :D

If you're desperate to add protein to it add a scoop - no need though IMO.

Eggs and beans would be a good start, but might be a bit heavy with the beans, but see how it goes. :)

Sounds spot on. I bought a blender last Month so I'll get one prepared at home then take it to work after training :)

I'll go easy on the beans and see how I feel.
