1x Mac Pro with 3xGPU, 1xRME soundcard

... Shame its all for work, and not for my own collection. I'll still hopefully get to use some of it at some point. :)

I'd say its a shame it's not yours...but i definitely wouldn't like to see that exit my bank! Bet that cost a whack!

I had to google it, "Call for price" means it's gonna be expensive...

What res would 31MP give? I'm not sure if I could even load that into PS!

Yeah, don't think my bank manager would approve of that list, lol.

Hehe, yup the digital blad aint cheap, but it works out a lot cheaper than some of the other options. As for the resolution, I think it works out at about 5600px X 5600px. Might sound a lot, but it can still be beaten by a scanned 5x4 negative. Will make for some nice 44" prints though. :)

Should be touching nearly £20,000 there?

It came in at close to £30k for all of it.

I hope you'll post a picture of all the boxes when they arrive :p

I sure will try to :)

i know someone that could have saved you 15k ;) lol.

nice purchase, out of intrest why all Canon when you shoot with nikon? could you not persuade the ones above the convert to the darkside?

Unfortunately my personal choice in Photography Kit can't play a role in the decision here. We already have a load of Canon kit so we may as well keep going down that route. Also most of the students tend to have Canon cameras, so they are used to them. And anyway, even if we did go Nikon, I doubt I could convince them to get a 600mm f4, lol. :D

my eyes extended bigger than anything they have ever seen after reading H3DII 31
At that point I thought it was yours until this followed

Good to get some play out of that. I would love only a quarter of that to play with.

Just noticed the \RME soundcard... Do you use Logic Studio or Garageband also?

Pro Tools. But the RME soundcard is for computerising the playback of sound cues in the theatre. The soundcard is a RME HDSPe RayDAT which im hooking up to the Yamaha LS9 desk via ADAT. This will allow me to have up to 36 Channels in and 36 Channels out of the computer. Will make life so much easier than having to use CDs and Minidisk for sound cues. :)

 36 channels, that should be more than enough. Pro-tools is the only DAW I have not tried yet, I might give it a whirl despite doing most music stuff in Logic now. I guess ADAT is a nice way of doing it as the signal stays digital.

I recently picked up a 24 channel in and 8 channel out XLR multicore snake, and it's massive, around 2" diameter and rather heavy also! I guess this isn't very camera related tho... :o
