Orange Termination Of Contract: Fee?

i currently am with orange, 18 month contract i think, but i recently got a new phone:

HTC Touch HD...

its £35 a month + £6 insurance..so about 41 pound a month..

now how much would it cost to get out of this ive been with orange for well over a year now.. reason i want out is im thinking of getting an iPhone 3GS.

No fee with most modern contracts, it's just a sum of the months remaining on the contract multiplied by the rental.

It isn't a fee - just you paying the remainder of the amount you agreed to pay them in exchange for your phone - £41*monthsremaining

But a "fee" that you fully agreed to when you took out the contract 12/18 months ago.
There is no unexpected termination fee/charge, simply the remaining charge you owe Orange from the original contract.

No it is not, it is the amount you agreed to pay them when taking out the contract. A fee, if there was a fee, would be charged on top of that

just say your moving out of the country, see what they say to that.

Dunno if its true or not but apparently if you say that, they have to cancel the contract immediately

although on second thoughts if you said you had murdered some one and was being extradited to brazil would probably work just as well

May not be ideal, and i have never done it, so i dont know exactly what happens... but phones4u and likewise can buy you out of contract

I did get offered it once... basically i had AGES left, about 6 months or more, and the deal was if i take the new phone and contract they were gonna give me £100 cash :\ (which didnt quite make up what i had left, but i suppose that depends how long and what they can do for you!)
