Theres been talk on the news that the increase in people taking vocational NVQs compared to years ago. And with the current climate having a degree doesnt guarantee a job now.
I am currently qualified as a mortgage advisor and have a few more exams until I get my full financial planning cert.
I also have random Highers (read A levels).
What do you guys have?

I have a Higher National Diploma in Software Development and a Higher National Diploma in ICT System Support.

Took 4 years to get both and it paid off as i'm no longer working for Tesco :D

Well, got 8 GCSE's mostly at C, except for science in which I got two B's. Got MMM for my BND for IT Practitioners (bleh, too much business stuff that I don't care about) and a level 3 communications qualification. Doing AS levels next year. Hooray for mediocrity.

GCSE's, 4 x A-levels, one degree and next year my PGCE, a few years after I will do a Masters in education, then a doctorate.

I want Headteachers pay :)

11 GCSE's

3 A-Levels (one is general studies)
5 AS levels (NOT the same subjects as the a-levels)

a BSc (hons) in computer science

Hang in there, I know a few headteachers with less qualifications than you and they are on about £60-80k a year

9 GCSE's (during era when you actually had to work for them), 4 A Levels, B.Eng, M.Phil , NVQ Level 4 <- with another on the way

add to that various bits from work such as business certs and FLT licence

Also member of IChemE and CMI

What really gets my goat is when you see signs for, lets say, construction sites and you have the chief engineer with loads of letters after their name, most of them are pi** easy to get and are just a form of self gratification

I have to say I use letters after my name on work correspondence Cert CII (MP) aka Mortgage guy just because I pay for the right to use them in my membership fee (The Chartered Institute of Insurance are money grabbing b*******!).

I've got 11 O levels and 3 A levels, so in new money thats probably about 23 GCSE's and about 7 "A" levels. And a degree in mechanical engineering, but I beileve you actually still have to work a bit for these. Controversial.

14 GCSE's, BTEC IT Practitioner. Some amazing keyskills and Advanced ECDL powerpoint w00t! Currently doing my CS degree.

9 Standard Grades at grade 1. 5 Highers (4 at grade A+). First Class Joint Honours. Now doing a PhD. Plus some random certificates such as Sun Certified Sys Admin level 1 etc

Compared to other IT Managers - not many.
I never studied to go into IT, so my BTEC National is in a totally unrelated subject.
I was a typical "Grade C" student with regards GCSE's.

I hold a couple of MS certs - some now long expired, 95, 98, NT4, Win2k
Some MS server certs.
Some old Novell certs

I'm also a Chartered IT Professional

I'm looking to add things like ITIL & Prince2 mainly for CV bulking more than anything.

Other than that I rely on real-world experience over the paper certs.
