Driving to work in the subaru yesterday in the morning i discoverd there was a cow on the road less then a second before slammed into it while travelling between 110 and 120:eek:
It was dark and the cow was black so i never saw it at all until i was driving through it.
I didnt even get to slow down before the impact, no braking at all.
When i looked back the cow was gone so i reckon i had hit it in the back legs or something. But i havnt seen it since.

The car got 1/3 of the bull bar mashed into the bonnet and head light, Smashed a head light (Light bulbs still work :D),the drivers side mirrow got torn off and it shatterd my drivers side window showering me and every thing else in the car with glass.
Even got up my nose some how:p
I told a farmer about it because he was about to drive through to make sure he wouldnt hit it aswell(I couldnt see where it was, because i hadnt been back yet) and he called up the owner of the black cows in the area, Who i bumped into when i turned the car around to go home. He said he reckons he found the cow and asked if i was alright.(Never said if the cow was dead or not)

I think i saw a trail of blood on the way home today so im guessing it must have walked off into the bushes.

I might get some photos at some stage :)

And one last thing THE SUBARU LIVES! :D Not even a bent chassis or any mechinical damage.
This car has now killed a tree and a cow:p

cow's are pretty hefty beasts, probably has huge muscular damage etc

glad you're ok, but we need pics+hovis

Years ago when I drove an MR2, one of the guys on www.mr2oc.co.uk hit a cow on the motorway at about 75mph in an MR2. Brutal damage to the car and the cow was dead before it hit the deck. Unfortunately I can no longer find the pics :(

Australian bush, bull bars useful. Peckham High Street, not so much. Are you insured for bovine impact damage?

You are very lucky to have that little damage to the car when hitting a cow! if you had hit the broadside of it in the centre of the car you'd probably be dead, the cow would go straight up the bonnet and through your windscreen; and a very mooving story that would have been!

my mate hit a deer and put it in his boot to get it off the road and then forgot about it!
he only realised it was still there when a relaly bad smell was coming from the boot lol

He forgot he had a dead animal in his boot?

hit a deer out here in norway and you have to call the police, who then send out a bloke with a dog to track it down and kill it if you didn't do a good enough job..
