Asus GeForce GTX 295 Mars Edition

mmmm, i actuly hovere over the contiue payment button there for a while.

Even had all my card details in ready to pay for it, then i decided it might be a bit too much so i though I would trust the coin.

Heads I left it. Tails buy it.

came up heads.

So i left it.

So is this quad SLI on one card? I can understand the price point if so, I thought it was just a glorified GTX295.

No it's not Quad SLI on one card, it's 2 GTX285s on one card* (GTX295 is normally two underclocked GTX275s). 2 GTX275s will beat a GTX295 for the same money, and 2 factory overclocked GTX285s will beat this mars product (and save you at least £400).

The only advantage this card has at all is that you could buy 2 of them for >£2000, and then have the equivalent of Quad SLI GTX285s (which is otherwise not possible, 3 way yes but not 4).

* Well 2 cards (PCBs) sandwiched togeather. The revised GTX295 is 2 GPUs on one PCB.

That's what I thought but this had me confused:

it's a dual core people. Quad SLI, PhysX and CUDA enabled with overclocked GPU, memory out of the box. Also limited to 1000 units. gonna buy me two of em ;)

What I want to see is an end to SLI cards and much more powerfull single chip cards!

It was ace a few years ago where a GForce ti4600 would last 3 years, not your lucky for it to last 3 months before its replaced!

even though people have the money for this...they wont buy as its not much different to the standard 295,i shall not be purchasing anyhow;)

I did the exact same thing.

It came up Tails.

So I left it.

I don't have £1000 to waste on a graphics card....

i reckon they will sell em all.

Your talking worldwide here..

And how many do you think overclockers could get hold of?

I bet theres a few serious players that would like more than one in sli too.. 8D

All the added memory in the World isn't going to change the fact that the card (like all top end cards) will be obsolete within a year.
