Buying tomorrow - check please

Mrk2

Was getting an AM3 system but with the amount of people saying get an i7 i've given in.

So this is what i've come up with, please can yoyu tell me if it's a good / balanced system etc.

I've be looking to set-up the two hard drives in raid 0 - hoping it easy to do before i install windows 7.
Also hoping windows 7 is easy to download and install - anyone with any advise etc please post.

change the motherboard to an ASUS P6T an extra 20£ but it'll be worth it

and erm the CFM on those 2 fans for the intake are a bit weak

already at max budget - infact £60 over.

cfm? - these fans will be for the front mounts - can't see any other good light up blue ones

i'm just a little worried about the windows 7 and raid 0 option.

anyone got any experience with either?

If it seems too much trouble i'll stick to 1TB HDD and Vista.

Cant see it being a problem? Dont see why it would be and different to vista. Never had a problem with RAID0 before.

It's my first build and although i've added graphic cards/hdds/ram etc to computers , i'm still a little nervous.

It's just a case of turning it before installing windows, nothing special, sure when your stuff comes we can talk you through it

I kid, but its not the best quality PSU for a rather high-end build. Do yourself a big favour and spend the extra £15 on this. Always remember - the PSU is the most important part of your system.

Also, this 640GB HDD is way better for only £4.50 more each. RAID 0 will be great.

PSU wise if your going i7 then i'd go with the PC&C 610w

i've don't think i've read your previous thread but presonanlly i'd go AM3 as i7 doesn't offer much extra real world preformance except for things like encodeing.

Good spec, but don't forget to take your ESD precautions.

The UD3R only has dual channels for ram not tri-channel. You'll need to either change you memory or motherboard. I'd personally change the mobo.

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. That board does support triple channel memory, I was just on the gigabyte site. Just need to put the modules in the slots labeled: ddr3_1, ddr3_2 and ddr3_3 - simple.
